oneshot Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 Ok I have lost most of the use of one arm. I forget stuff and my balance is off. We was going to just heat with Propane. I thought why not heat some with wood. Got all kinds of Trees and keep me busy. Our Son says lets go over cut up bad saw logs. Use your Chainsaw, Splitter and Pickup. My immediate thought is I paid for the Splitter and Chainsaw and making payments on the Pickup. Get to thinking if I was to buy Firewood it would really cost me. I get mad at him using my tools but he does a bunch of Carpenter work for us that would really cost. My wife says we really don’t need him but without him it would take much longer and might not get done right. So in long run it pays for him to use Dads stuff. oneshot
fishinwrench Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 Don't even start thinkin' about nit-picking with the kids. In the end they'll never forget the times you bickered.....But they'll easily forget all the good things you did throughout the years.
MOPanfisher Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 Don't look back, you will run into something in front. I really miss having big moose of a son around, lots of things I did when younger are a lot easier with him to help. I can still do most of it just slower and akwardly. He is only an hour or so away, works at a job (wish it was a better one) has a cute girlfriend that I see more often than him and mostly I just miss having him around. I wouldn't hesitate a moment to loan him anything I have, except some of my better fishing gear!

That kid forgets I let him have Vehicles, we paid off thousands he owed but we Co- Signed. He says we stole property from him. He was going to lose it . We talked the guy into putting it in our name and let us pay for it. He left because I wanted him to do chores. He moves in with a family. In order to stay he had to do chores. oneshot
oneshot Posted December 3, 2020 Author Posted December 3, 2020 We’re needing a bunch of building material that is too long for my Pickup so we was going to have it delivered. Son went and got a long trailer that takes my Pickup to pull. But I can load stuff on it little at a time and make several trips cheaper than having stuff delivered. oneshot
gotmuddy Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 I don't know you, but I think the biggest issue here is the relationship with your son. I hope ya'll can eventually find common ground and get along. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.

So I’m thinking drop the AAA. Also found out I can’t be hired because of my health and I can’t pass Drug Test but I still take classes and train. Once COVID-19 is over they will pay for a room and meals. Plus I can take Government Vehicle . Just in a mood today. oneshot gotmuddy 1

So I’m thinking drop the AAA I got banned from AAA for life. When I was in my 20's I had what I thought was a badass 4x4. It wasn't as badass as I thought though, because I never did find a farm pond that it could actually drive through. After the 4th time trying I got a really nasty letter from them. 😟 Basically it said....Dear Jackass, Triple A is for ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE, not for dragging you out of farm ponds and mud bogs, out in the middle of nowhere at 3:am. Your membership has been cancelled and if you call us again you're gonna get charged....so you'd better have some phucking CASH on you at the time. Sincerely, Paul Koeling AAA towing.
oneshot Posted December 4, 2020 Author Posted December 4, 2020 Know a guy that would break ice for the cows driving on it. I had them ruin a Battery one time beating on the post. Pulled a guy out of three foot of mud one time. Found out he had been stuck there before. AAA gives discounts but being older gets the same. oneshot
