nhornback Posted January 26, 2021 Posted January 26, 2021 i had planned to get on the water this week, possibly Friday. Will the foot+ of water from the rain muddy everything up? If anyone is on or around stockton this week and has any water clarity info for me I'd greatly appreciate it! NH
waterpossum Posted January 26, 2021 Posted January 26, 2021 I went bye CC yesterday afternoon. The mud line had just passed the ramp and there was a strong current. The same can be said when I went bye the 39 bridge. Today the current had subsided substantially. It should have little effect on main lake fishing from a clarity standpoint.
waterpossum Posted January 26, 2021 Posted January 26, 2021 I do expect the lake level to be close to 866 by tomorrow eve.
Dutch Posted January 26, 2021 Posted January 26, 2021 865.85 at 3 pm today Where did you go and how did you do?

nhornback Posted January 27, 2021 Author Posted January 27, 2021 Thanks for the update, waterpossum. Should work out that I'll be able to get on the water on Friday - I'll try to post what i find
nhornback Posted February 1, 2021 Author Posted February 1, 2021 Delayed post, but not much to report. Got skunked from 11-3 or so out of mutton. Marked lots of fish and bait between 30-40ft, both suspended around 30ft and right on the bottom at the mouth of a cove off a channel swing, but couldn't get a bite out of them with a-rigs, swimbaits, underpin. Too much wind Friday to drag a jig for em. Was nice to get out on the water either way, better days ahead. Water temp was 39-40 and clarity was maybe 2-3ft max. NH Old dog 417 and liphunter 1 1

Should have clarified, I was actually throwing one of those 3 wire a-rigs. Threw it on a 7 MH fast but im sure that's not the ideal setup. I threw it more friday than ever have. Maybe someone with more experience will chime in on it. NH
liphunter Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 Thanks NH. I got a couple of 5-wire gifted to me for Christmas. Never threw one before. I was trying to use a 6'8'' MH rod. I don't think that was right for me. Just doesn't seem to be enough backbone. But I just don't want to jump to conclusion that heavy is the answer. Luck is where preparation meets opportunity...... Or you could just flip a coin???
