A friend of mine just had a Motorguide X3 installed on his boat and the steering is pretty stiff. I have the same motor on my boat and it is smooth as silk. Is there anything we can check or lube to help. Thanks

Thanks Wrench. My pedal is screwed down. I am going to my buddies tomorrow. Is the friction screw located under the cover where the cable exits the pedal?

Does Motorguide have a Friction Screw on all of their models?  I need to tone down my old Bill Dance 36 lber.  Its loose as a goose.

Ive had my X3 about three years now and it has always been pretty smooth, It seems like it is starting to creak more and more and one of those long metal pins on the mount loves to back its way out and i have to keep a hammer with me to beat it back in about once a day.

You guys should both get one of these kits to keep onboard, its only a matter of time before the little plastic tabs break and your trip is ruined

There are so many different models, I'm not 100% sure on that particular one.....but if it isn't easily accessable directly under where the cables exit the pedal housing, then it is on the opposite end....and also easily accessable.

Don't loosen it too much.... because it also serves as a cable tensioner, and you don't want excess slop in the cables.
