I tied on the Alewife and threw only it.  I was going for broke.  They were going to eat it or go hungry.  On the 4th point I caught a greenie.  I wound up catching 4 on it but gave it up for Ned after fishing at least a dozen places.  The first cast with Ned produced a nice keeper brown fish.  So I stuck with Ned.  I caught 13 bass on it with a lot less unproductive water than the swimbait.  I only had four keepers which is about the same ratio as I was seeing  on Table Rock.  The only other bait I used was shaky with no bites.

I plan to go back down on Friday.

how are you fishing your ned? swimming it? dragging it? or shaking it?

Let it fall to the bottom, lift it off, let it glide back down is the predominant way that I do it.

Same here. I alternate sometimes between just hopping it back to the boat, or picking up my rod and letting it pendulum.

I've also done okay fishing it vertical in deeper water, about like snap jigging for walleyes.

I'm not really a bass fisher, but the ned is just plain fun.

Thx guys, my wife throws a ned quite a bit. It's slowed down for her though. She's smoked a few big ones in the past on the ned, but can't seem to get the bite going for about the past year. I think she's mostly shaking it though. I'll let her know how you guys are fishing it. She if she can get back in the groove.

Dave Reeves is probably one of the best Ned fishermen on the Ozark Anglers forum.  He almost exclusively fishes Table Rock and posts over there.  He dead sticks it.  Let it hit the bottom and leave it.  Now to be successful at this technique, you have to be throwing it where the fish are.  I do it like Dutch because I do more searching than catching.  There have been a few times when I knew I was where the fish were and would let it sit.  But it is really hard to do.  Really hard!
