Looking for help/info

I will be visiting  the Branson area around the  10th of September.   I am looking for information on crappie fishing.   I live in AK and do not get to crappie fish anymore.  I am looking for all information.     Will they be biting at that time, are there places one can fish from the bank/pier for crappie,   if a boat is needed what marina's do you all think is the best, baits,  as when fishing in LA/FL  always used minnows/crickets but I do not see them mentioned much on any forum,   and any other information one can think of that might help.

I have looked at Lilley landing and there prices seem fair.    not sure just how close to Branson that is or what body of water it supports and the fish types in the water.    I will have a vehicle so if there are other/better crappie fishing lakes I am willing to drive say a 75 miles or so to get there, as a break from a family reunion  is always good :-).     Also I do not do crowds well so off the path decent fishing would work better then good fishing but crowded but I will deal with whatever I have too.

TIA to any and all that might respond with info.  Take care and God Bless America

Oh Truman is a Crappie Lake.

I catch them from the bank but you would never find the place. LOL

There is Docks below the Dam that people fish for Crappie with Minnows.

Im thinking about a hundred miles from Branson.

Maybe Stockton Lake but really know nothing of it.

Thanks oneshot.   I did not realize I had posted on the Truman lake site.   I have now also posted on the crappie blue gill site so hope for more info there.   I have trapped for over 45 years and can read sign pretty good so watch your footsteps heading into your spots :-).   I will study all info and go from there.   thanks again and good luck.   God Bless America Trap

Oh I trapped back in early ‘70’s when Jumbo Coons brought $50.

I fish from the bank in the cove due West of Fairfield Ramp. If you can find how to get there have at.

I go to Branson I fish Cooper Creek Dock for Trout. Not sure how the water is but go to Forsyth fish below the Dam where Taney goes into Bull Shoals should catch about anything.

Posting in the Truman lake forum may have been a mistake, but it was a good one.   It's the crappie capital of the state, hands down.

If you don't have a few weeks to spend figuring things out just hire one of the local guides.   You'll get your crappie fix taken care of in short order.  I promise.

Kyler Beckmann is a friend and a HAMMER.  He does trips out of several marinas, but it's likely that he is booked pretty solid.

wrench, I tried to check out your buddy but seems he only has FB presence which I do not use.   He also has twitter and another but not me.   I will keep checking but does not look like he has just a website or whatever.   thanks again.//////  God Bless America
