Dutch Posted September 16, 2021 Posted September 16, 2021 I launched at Hartley this morning and headed to my favorite spinnerbait spot. I caught 3 and missed 3. I don’t know why. I was using a trailer hook. After that I drug out the jig, shaky, and jigging spoon. I spent way longer than I should have fishing deep, looking for brown fish. All I caught was a short eye on a shaky worm. My brain said that there are always some fish shallow. So I put on a square bill and covered a few miles of shallow water. I wound up catching 3 on the square bill. They were not where I thought they should be but heck they aren’t tied up. I fished from Hartley to Mutton Creek both sides of the lake. The water was from 78-79°. I think I will go back to the slimy water in the James for a while. Jadesjigs, wtr dogs, straw hat and 3 others 6
Flysmallie Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 I think it's probably really close to some great spinnerbait action. My best spots are further up around Birch but you are definitely in some good water. Did you venture into Googer?
