Fishing Goals 2022

At year's end, I ended up with the following:

I caught 79 different species and 910 total fish. I caught at least one fish in nine states with lifers in six of them.

Maryland - L
New Jersey - L
Kansas
Missouri - L
Virginia - L
Delaware
West Virginia - L
Indiana
North Carolina - L

I caught 3 Darters in MD and one was a Lifer
Tessellated (L) - MD
Fantail - MD
Greenside darter - MD

I caught three Lifer sculpin species in Maryland (have one more species in MD to catch) and a lifer blenny.
Blue Ridge Sculpin - MD
Checkered Sculpin - MD
Potomac Sculpin - MD

Freckled Blenny - VA

I fished for Roanoke Bass but no luck in the Eno River. I will have to go back down to NC and spend more than a few hours trying for a Roanoke bass.

I only caught one Lifer bullhead. Fished the Eno River for a snail bullhead but need to go back.
Flat Bullhead - NC

Unfortunately, due to car issues we did not get down to SC or GA and I did not try for spotted sunfish. I did try a few spots for Banded sunfish. One spot was nearly dried up and the others didn't seem to have the fish.

I had targeted 18 Lifers, but only caught 17 in 2022. I had my chances. Throughout the year I missed shortnose gar, grass carp, Ozark logperch, Johnny darters, redfin shiners, ribbonfish... I did get one of my previous fish changed to a new species giving me the total lifer target number for 2022 that I was hoping to achieve.

I did get to meet and fish with @FishnDave. If I could fish better, I might have caught one of those shortnose gar or grass carp. I'll either blame the heat or the irresistible floats that they tried to eat instead of the jigs. I did make good on catching goldfish and koi at Dave's koi spot.

@Ham  and  @Johnsfolly  I'm seeing a pattern here.

If it were me, I'd probably be directing friends to use a better guide service.   Were either of you able to get a refund of your deposit?

I did get a couple of hand tied jigs from the guide. Not sure if that counted as a refund 😅.
