Crappie

Any crappies moving up shallow yet? Coming down monday to turkey hunt and thought i might try for some crappie. Thanks boys.

Have heard of a few people catching some around some docks but just what I’ve heard. Bass were pretty good last Saturday afternoon up shallow if that interests you.

It never hurts to try.  There are a few being caught shallow on warm days but rains and cold fronts are making the shallow bite tough.  They are not quite there for the spawn but soon.  Need both the daylight length and water temp.  I think it will be a condensed spawn this year, hot and heavy but not as long lived as some years.  They will spawn in waves for quite a while.  Most are still staging or in pre spawn.  Couple other things of note, the water on the lower end has been very clear They won't be right up on the banks to spawn, if it stays clear they will be out in 6 to 8 or so of water.  Lastly outflows have been increased significantly so the lake level will be dropping and may pull some of the stained water further down the lake.  However again you won't ever know unless you go.  I have had some fabulous fishing trips in terrible conditions and drawn a blank it what should have been perfect conditions.  Sometime the dang fish don't know what want.  😀

Redbuds blooming...white bass running.  Dogwoods blooming...crappie on banks.

I'm at home icing my knew knee, so please post some pics and reports as I'll be missing both runs this year.

spent 3 days over at Stockton instead Ketchup. 3 out of 4 guys got turkeys. You can guess who didnt get one! The crappie fishing over at Stockton was hit and miss. One of my buddies who is pretty good stick over there got his limit monday afternoon. Jigs in 8 to 12 ft. SLOWWWWW. Tuesday he got shut out and he fished almost all day. I struggle over there crappie fishing. Coming down to Pomme this sunday afternoon. Will probably go over to LOZ and fish a couple of days but will give Pomme a shot. Any updated info on Pomme?
