I thought about doing something like that but carpet was good and didn’t want screws or rivets showing on the deck
Members RangerR83 Posted September 25, 2022 Author Members Posted September 25, 2022 I’m going to have to recarpet so as long as it’s flat enough nothing sticks up I think this is the route I’ll go.

It will stiffen up those lids just fine. 👍 Be sure to use the appropriate backing washers on the 3/16 or 5/32 rivets. And place a rivet every 6-8". You could make slits in the carpet with a razor knife....then stick the carpet back down over the rivet heads, if you don't wanna re-carpet. After a few trips out you will have to look real hard to find those rivet heads. Just makes the process a bit more time consuming. RangerR83 1
fishinwrench Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 As a trick little addition.....those angles hanging down make a really convenient place to attach clips/hangers for things like....oh let's see....Cull tags, Worm bags, Flex lights, pre-made Carolina rigs.... Use your imagination 🙂 RangerR83 1
