Members feather n fin Posted October 15, 2022 Members Posted October 15, 2022 Hey folks--I just found this forum and joined up. I am flyfishing upland hunter from NH. My wife and I migrated west to take care of her mom when her Dad passed on. That was 5 years ago. I recently heard about the 9 Blue Ribbon streams in Missouri and few weeks ago drove over there with the wife and dog to have a look and explore access and such. The water was crazy low. I did get to fish for an hour or so and brought in one of those beauties and spooked a few. I will go back when the water comes up some. I look forward to the White at some time. grizwilson, Quillback, BilletHead and 2 others 5 https://woodlandclearing.wordpress.com

Quillback Posted October 15, 2022 Posted October 15, 2022 Welcome! You're not too far from the White river below Beaver dam. feather n fin 1

Yup---I understand there is wadeable water there. Some tips may be needed. I am thinking maybe this winter or spring. We are leaving for the Lower Mountain Fork early morning as we rented a cabin for 4 days. This will be a first. BTW--we go over to Blowing Springs to hike regularly. Its ours and our dog Max's favorite spot. LOL https://woodlandclearing.wordpress.com
rps Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 Glad you joined the forum! The four corner area of Mo/AR/KA/OK offers many good choices. Illinois River, Elk River, White River above and below Beaver, 10 Mile Creek, Little Sugar Creek, Crooked Creek, are merely examples. I hope you enjoy. feather n fin and Terrierman 2
ollie Posted October 18, 2022 Posted October 18, 2022 Welcome. I get over that way quite a bit. Have a buddy that lives in Bernice. Was just there this past weekend. Lots of places to fish around here. have fun! feather n fin 1 "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
Members feather n fin Posted October 21, 2022 Author Members Posted October 21, 2022 Thanks fellas---I admit to have been in a bit of a life funk dealing with stuff, but I am back in the swing and looking forward to exploring more waters. Last week, I took delivery of a custom JP Ross 6'6" 3 wt. S-Glass rod that will see time especially on those spring creeks and close by warm creeks. Nothing like a new special purpose rig to get the juices flowing. 🙂 https://woodlandclearing.wordpress.com

I have had some fun on Spavinaw Creek...I much prefer moving water and ponds, but not much of a big lake guy. I may change that. I was thinking the other day of walking through the woods behind the house and throwing some flies into the Grand and see what happens. rps 1 https://woodlandclearing.wordpress.com
