Lion's Mane by Unicorn Lake

Recommended Posts

Did a quick trip this evening looking for possible inland silversides on a tip from another lifelister. I went and fished the Unicorn branch coming out of Unicorm lake. Only caught mosquitofish and redbreast sunfish. I did find a couple of lion's mane mushrooms in a large dead log 😁20221026_171505.jpg

I harvested the small one since it was not already starting to yellow. They can be bitter when they yellow. Also allows the fungus to spread its spores. I'll  have to remember this spot for next year.

                   Good going!

Yes, they can be very bitter with age.  I am hoping the rain will get something going around here but not going to hold my breath.
