Johnsfolly Posted November 10, 2022 Posted November 10, 2022 Folks always seem to want fish to just jump into the boat. Be careful what you wish forπ π https://www.upi.com/Odd_News/2022/11/09/nz-mako-shark-lands-on-fishing-boat-Whitianga-New-Zealand/5421668019199/ Daryk Campbell Sr 1
Members eyesearcher Posted November 10, 2022 Members Posted November 10, 2022 Years ago, while fishing for salmon in the St. Joe river in southeast Michigan we had a 25 lb King Salmon jump in the boat. Needless to say the next few minutes were quite interesting. Quillback and Johnsfolly 2
Al Agnew Posted November 12, 2022 Posted November 12, 2022 If you fish Ozark streams at night from a boat, chances are you'll have a fish jump into the boat, or against the side of the boat, or completely over the boat, at some point.Β I've had all three happen.Β If you crowd a bass against the bank when it is in shallow water, as is common at night, it panics and jumps.Β The old timers even used that tendency to catch bass; they'd hang a couple big blankets lengthwise down the middle of their long johnboats, and motor along the banks slowly.Β Bass would jump, hit the blanket, and fall into the boat.Β They called it "jumping bass".
