Might try calling Flip and see if he's got any of the old Air Cell fly line.

I've got way too much respect to be bothering that dude with something so piddly.

I've got a friend who works for SA--yeah, a dream job as he recently returned from visiting Australia and Tasmania on company business and you should see the pix- and asked what his suggestion might be. I was pretty specific about your request, and here is his suggestion:  https://www.scientificanglers.com/product/aircel-panfish/

Oh really?   Well that's cool!    Does it have a dacron core.....and come in Orange?

Sweet. Thanks 👍

I've always thought "multi-filament" was marketing speak for "braided". You can't make a braid without using multiple strands/filaments.

the only reason I didn't suggest that line is the short length of level line that you can cut out of it. <30' per the profile image.  Oh, and in a 5/6 weight it might be smallish in diameter. But the alternatives are getting fewer.

Speaking of old flyshops that are still in business (kinda).........

Let me tell you how LAME Hook & Hackle is now 🙄   They are still all freaked out about COVID-19.     I decided that I'd build a dryfly rod over the Thanksgiving holiday, so I ordered a blank and some assorted components almost 3 weeks ago.......They are sending it one piece at a time.  Took over a week to get a guide set, then a few days later I got the rod finish, a week later (today) I received 2 spools of thread.........I mean seriously....C'mon !!!  😠

Thinking of doing the same (building a dry fly rod).  Can I ask what blank you chose?

Rainshadow Unity 8'6" 5wt. 2pc.

1.5oz.

Butt .366

Tip 4.5

I used a 9' 6wt. Unity blank for a rod I built my daughter (graduation present).  Cut 1.5" off the tip & butt and paired it with a 7wt. line.   It turned out to be a really sweet White bass/Smallmouth rod.
