I have some radishes coming in now and pea pods.  Didn't know squirrels would go after radishes, guess I better pull them soon.

They’re just digging I think, not eating. I found a peanut in the garden the other day. 😀 The neighbor feeds the squirrels.

Same here. Can't even do suet or they eat that. The neighborhood cats that run rampant need to do their job or everyone is getting a bullet.

They’re leaving the suet alone for now, but they’ve been on it before.  We’ve got a downy woodpecker that we see a lot on the suet feeders.

Hummingbirds and orioles are here!

My daughter and me started  a bunch of tomatoes this year (full sleeve of solo cups worth).  We only  had room for 7 plants. The  Neighbors/office  got the rest. Starting some pole beans. Daughter’s herbs are in the ground. Cilantro, purple basil, green basil, and thyme. Plan to add parsley and chives. Maybe a couple stalks of sweet corn.

Garden here is going great. Late start on some things because we had forecast of late frosts so I put some things off. The chestnut harvest will be low. The first leaves that came on got frost and freeze turning them black. There will be some nuts but catkins and few and far between.  We have squash and cucumbers starting to vine on the trellis,IMG_20230602_140626073_HDR.jpg we have sugar snap peas blooming and putting on pods other side of those are peppers,

So also in the garden and yard we try to give back to nature. Wildflowers in patches. Butterfly milkweed, coreopsis, pale purple coneflower an regular coneflower bee balm and beard tounge. Blazing star too. The great spangled fritillary butterfly are thick and will get thicker as summer progresses. Monarch butterfly have been laying and caterpillars can be found if you look hard enough. Our honeybees use the native plants too.

Welcome to our wildflower garden. Took a few years to get established. Worth the wait.

Every garden needs bee hives.

We are up to 12 long hives now. A 13th hive was taken to a friend's. I had gifted him a long hive last year. It did so well he split it and filled the one I put over at his house.

We have caught swarms by hand this season and trapped three. We utilized some here and gifted out three. Two to a new beekeeping long time friend in Weableau. He built himself two long hives. One swarm trap full of bees will head to a Nevada beekeeping friend this weekend. I don't need any more bees this season but will leave traps out for a couple more weeks. I will gift out more catches if it happens. Lets tour the BilletHeads apiary,

We love our bees and honey is a bonus.

I am down to three hives now.  And T Mobile has dropped the ball when they started advertising their internet service.  My drops off to dial up speed at about 6 every nite.  No video here.

Big drought coming, glad I did not put the garden out at the farm.  We had 2.5 inches in May.  And it all dropped at one time and run down river.
