I thought they'd be shutting down the 2 gates this week but instead they turned off a generator and opened 3 more gates.  Same flow - 15k cfs.  Table Rock is almost down to 917 ft.

I'm not complaining... I want them to drop the lake before April and May get here.  Looks like they're running Bull Shoals too - may be someone finally got to the Corps and told them to quit flooding everyone. Yeah - I know there's more to it.

No shad seen this am and the white bite was slow for me.

We're heading down tomorrow evening. Going to snag for paddlefish on the James arm on Wednesday and then hopefully meander over to Taneycomo Wednesday evening. If not then definitely Thursday morning. Hopefully some of those shad will find their way through by then. I always look forward to fishing when the gates are open.

I am glad to see them letting out that water, more rain in the forecast for later this week, hopefully we won't get a gully washer.

I was poking around in the mid-lake area today waiting for a fix on my boat trailer.  Saw a few shad floating off the bank at Joe Bald, so it appears that some sort of die-off is still going on.

Will this make lower lake bank fishing tough? We are coming down this weekend and staying downstream from the landing. Unfortunately, friends with boats (FWB) canceled but a handful of us are planning on dock fishing. Possibly renting a boat one afternoon.

What I find interesting is it was running 200 (15000 cfs)  for about a week, which I thought was almost 4 generating units. Now they project nearly 3 units but 12000 cfs. I would think the generation is less now than last week.

Other than the shad what other differences does opening floodgates vs generators mean? Change the temp? More debris in the water?

If you're down from the landing it should be too bad off the dock I'd think.

Shad - may be.  Debris - not really.
