I read it that if does not exceed 50% full then they have to follow the agreement, which means regulate it to 14 feet at the Newport gauge, maybe I am misunderstanding it.   I have no idea how they measure "flood storage".

I think flood stage would be the top of flood pool for each lake. Bull Shoals top of flood pool is 695. We are currently at 671.

Beaver is sitting at 1129 which is 10 feet above flood pool.  A couple of years ago the Corps announced they planned on keeping Beaver at no more than 1120.  They were a bit concerned about the effect of the high water on the dam.  They said they were doing it out of an "abundance of caution".

Well here we are at 1129 and very little water release from the lake.

It makes no sense even without considering what the Corps said. Why keep one lake so high while dumping the rest. I can’t remember the last time Table Rock was below 915 in April!

I’m not sure why the sense of urgency to get the levels down, but they are dumping water like I have never seen.
maybe throwing the marina operators a bone so they can have a normal summer.

They did the same on Table Rock. Now if we have a dry summer, it will get very interesting.
