Went fishing with my friend Richard Marks yesterday.  He's been on the crappie for weeks and assured me we'd catch a few.  I met him at the ramp at Cricket at 11:30 am.  I had my doubts.... high sun but some wind.  Not the best conditions.

We went to the mouth of Yoccum.  14-18 foot of water, 60 degree surface.  He turned on the Livescope.  We targeted crappie throwing either a 1/32nd ounce Lilley's jig or a Garland's bait.  Richard caught them pretty good - he was on the scope and I threw where he threw.  They were suspended 4-6 feet deep and were in groups of 2 and 3, but they were active and aggressive.  We ended at 14 nice keepers and quit at 3.

Seems to be a good crappie bite this year, don't know if the numbers are up or what, but I've been catching a few lately every time out while bass fishing.    Good average size too.
