Last weekend lower end

I fished the event Friday and Saturday.  Caught 1-2 pounders early each morning on main lake points on the surge shad and one knocker until sun up.  It needed to be slow or they would miss it. Threw glide baits, jerkbait, power worm and ned rig the rest of the day with not much success.  I did catch 1 each day over 3lb’s, one LM and one spot but neither were good enough for a check.  Found a nice surprise at the dock Saturday afternoon and caught a few for the in laws to have for dinner.  WT was 61-63, 10’ visibility and sht ton of males on the bank in beds.  Slime was still an issues in many places.

Did you have to use a minner or did they bite a jig?

Really nice fish, thanks.

Stone and I found an absolute wad of crappie but could only catch one on the 2.8 Keitech.

Becky and I may run back over this evening with a couple dozen minnows.

Bobby garland baby shad.  Pearl with a pink head.  The only one I had. All my crappie stuff usually stays at home in KS.   I swear they were asleep until I caught the first one.   I pulled my boat in the adjacent stall put it on the lift and they didn’t move.   The first drop down hung just above the nose of the front fish and she grabbed it.  The others would only eat if I was slowly raising it up in front of their nose.
