curtisce Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 got to launch around 7:30 , found the cranking battery dead. my friend has a houseboat docked there. Made a call, hey mind if I borrow a battery for the day. Made the swich and we were on our way. fished some coves close by caugth a few , mix of all 3 types. Mostly buck bass. Headed down lake to look for smallmouth. found them in 6-9 fow gravel with some chunk rock. Not on fire but steady and all cookie cutter 2.25-2.5# 16-17 ". Had a couple push 3. Looked like thick healthy males. Wind was howling and it didn't matter where we went it found us. Finished up back in Indian creek where we could hide from the wind. Ended up with 40 total more than half were keepers. wonder what this next stretch of weather will do to them. caught eveything on Ned, green pumpkin and orange beat out plain GP. tried swimbait on points not a bite. Dock-in-it, NebSchmidty, Quillback and 1 other 3 1 The answer may not lie at the bottom of a glass, but you should always check
Bill Babler Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 Great day to say the least close to 40 small jaws is one to remember, especially with some pushing 3 pounds. Know what you mean about the swimbait, they’re really not eating it like they were 2 weeks ago, but they will eat a stickbait. Ned or a shaky head is the best up here too. Any moss issues? Thanks for the report. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

curtisce Posted April 20, 2023 Author Posted April 20, 2023 Moss is still present. Some places you'd look down and just move on there wasa solid blanket of it. Other places would be clean or minimal. Can't say for sure but even if you can fish these areas they don't seem to hold fish. The answer may not lie at the bottom of a glass, but you should always check
dtrs5kprs Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 Love the snot. It's a pain, but fish still live around it.
