To say I'm not a technical angler is an understatement by a large margin. Based on advice from this forum I did go to the AGFC website and get the fish attractor download for Beaver Lake. Took the SD card to the Humminbird and loaded it up.

Only caught a few small ones this morning, but it was a hoot to locate a few of the waypoints where I was fishing around the islands at Prairie Creek. Maybe next time they will hold some fish.

The process worked very well and I wasn't having to constantly stare at the fish finder, just glance from time to time to see the distance from boat to waypoint.

Something new for the ol bank beater!

Most were right on the money. Some were 10-20 ft off. The brush piles were fairly large.

20’ + - is within the accuracy that the government allows.  That added to the location of the gps doin the recording can easily make it 40’.

...used to be. Selective Availability was turned off in May 2000. Now accuracy is purely dependent on the device and its' view of the sky.

I can't dance like I used to.

With livescope, they can be 100' off and still easy to find, i also think the AGAF puts  in much larger brush piles than MO

MO put in some pretty big piles around the Big M area a year ago, as part of that project with Johnny Morris.  They were sinking cedar trees, it made some big piles.

Three years ago I saw AGFC doing the same thing around the dam area on Beaver, they were cutting cedars, hauling them down to the lake, taking them out on a barge, and sinking them.
