Dutch Posted October 28, 2023 Posted October 28, 2023 Several years ago I bought a wire welder for general use at the farm. I don’t remember the amp size but it is too small for several of the jobs that come up. I want to get a new one that will handle general welding jobs that show up on a regular basis. I’m sure some of you have the knowledge and maybe experience to guide me in the right direction. Thanks in advance. snagged in outlet 3 1
MrGiggles Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 Wire feed only? What size material are you working with, and how often? You can pick up a great many imported 200A machine that should cover you pretty well up to 3/8 steel for $1000 or so. A name brand machine will likely give you a better duty cycle and more of an assurance that replacement parts will be available in the future, and there is a lot of stuff in a wire welder that can fail, really depends on how much you use it, and how much you want to spend. -Austin
snagged in outlet 3 Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 @gotmuddy might be able to off some help.
Dutch Posted October 29, 2023 Author Posted October 29, 2023 It probably wouldn’t be used more than once or twice a month.
