Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted December 21, 2023 Root Admin Posted December 21, 2023 We were very blessed to acquire this property a couple of years ago and have been praying about what to do with it. 80% is wooded with lots of cedars and oaks. Not many mature trees and a lot of the hardwoods are kinda sickly, we found out. But it's still a nice, quiet wooded area that we think will be a good place to build a few single cabins for nightly rental. The creek, Cooper Creek, is what we call a dry creek which basically runs only when it rains except it is fed by a couple of springs that come in on the golf course above us, Thousand Hills Golf Club. So there is a nice flow through the creek year round. The property between us and the lake (33 acres) belongs to Liberty Electric and leased to MDC which is pretty cool. We're hoping to work with MDC to construct hiking trails. We'll see. But it's a great buffer. The trick will be getting utilities to the area - water from the existing well we'll have to go through alot of rock ledge area unless we drill another well which might be cheaper. Sewer - we're looking at possibilities but septic is definitely a good option. There's good soil and we have room for fields. With only 2 people per cabin, the usage will be minimal. Quillback, nomolites, grizwilson and 7 others 10
