Quillback Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Got out early with Jeb today, cold early, warm later. We started out by hitting my smallmouth "hotspots" that weren't very hot. We had two thirteen inch smallies after 3 or 4 hours of fishing. Jeb made a suggestion that it might be worth a shot to go to the back of Indian Creek, so back there we went. There's a spot that is at the mouth of a small cove in front of some trees, flat featureless bottom that is down 30-35 feet. Last year the bass liked this particular spot and they were in there again today. We caught 25 or so, scrubbing 2.8 Keitechs on 3/16 oz heads, slowly on the bottom. Mostly 12-15 inch fish, but we did measure a 17" spot and Jeb caught our only Largemouth of the day that looked to be in the 2-2.5 lb. range. WT 41. MarkG52, Terrierman, FishnDave and 5 others 8
jeb Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Great day on the lake. I tried spoons on the school of fish we found, but no takers. Really surprised me as they were hitting the swim baits on the fall. But I'm not sure the water is cold enough for a shad kill. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
Dutch Posted February 1 Posted February 1 Good day there guys. That area sounds somewhat like where we found them at the Rock. Jeb they wouldn’t hit the spoon when Jeff and I were out.
