Members trouty mouth Posted August 12 Members Posted August 12 I'm putting together a float and we're going to put in at Round Spring. I see there's an upper, middle, and lower access. Does anyone want to give me any advice on which one to use? Or anybody have any preference for one access over another? I was going to use the upper, because it looks like that one has a good parking lot/avoids the campground traffic -- that's about all I'm going on right now.
Members SamC489 Posted August 12 Members Posted August 12 If you are wanting to avoid crowds, you can just put in at Current River State Park. No one is ever there, but it is developed enough and has a sweet cliff jump. This will also depend on your shuttling situation, where you are taking out and how long you are going to be on the river.
Members trouty mouth Posted August 12 Author Members Posted August 12 Round spring is locked for our put in. I'm not worried about crowds, really. I wasn't familiar with this specific access and thought someone would have words of wisdom about the situation. We'll be taking out at Jerktail. This image from the NPS website got me thinking about the three different accesses. Although, Google Maps makes me think that there's only two access points. . .
tjm Posted August 12 Posted August 12 Ain't been there and likely won't get there, but your map shows a restroom at the upper landing and none at the other two. That's all I'd need to know, ... trouty mouth 1
tjm Posted August 12 Posted August 12 Others are in campgrounds, I think. I don't know how far away that is.
Gavin Posted August 13 Posted August 13 It will take you 15 minutes to check them all out when you get there. Cart’s usually does our shuttle when we float out of Round Spring, so we park on the upper. trouty mouth and Daryk Campbell Sr 2

Gavin Posted August 13 Posted August 13 We were at Two Rivers recently, there is a nice 2 lane ramp and parking, pulled out at Powdermill, access there has some issues worth a shallow water crossing and some loose gravel. Walk in and see before you rush in. Daryk Campbell Sr and trouty mouth 2
