Skeeter ZX190 Posted October 9 Posted October 9 I fished Sunday, October 6 in the lower area of Belt Creek. Water is low and gin clear. Didn't see many fish but was able to land 9. 1 brown, 1 cutthroat, 1 whitefish, and 6 rainbows. Gave it another go on October 8, but this time I went farther upstream into the Little Belt Mountains. Much better results. Probably my best day ever trout fishing. I caught 40. Also caught a Grand Slam+1. Brook, browns, rainbows, cutthroats, and some cuttbows. Biggest fish was the brown and it was 17 inches. Had several rainbows and cutthroat in the 14 to 15 inch range. Caught most of my fish on a france fly, size 20. I suspended it under a Caddis type dry fly. It's my own design but it is patterned after a foam front end loader. Weather has been gorgeous . Headed back to Missouri tomorrow. dpitt, nomolites, ollie and 7 others 10

Al Agnew Posted October 9 Posted October 9 Weather out here in our part of Montana (Livingston, Yellowstone River) has been incredible. Usually we get a bit of cold weather and a decent snow sometime in September. Not this year. We've only had two nights that put a bit of frost on the ground, and days have been sunny and in the 70s and 80s, though very smoky the last week from fires a hundred miles away. River is low and clear. Sunny days make for tough fishing, but I wandered down to the river from the house a couple evenings ago and caught two very nice rainbows.
