Foghorn Posted November 13 Posted November 13 With the beautiful weather we have been having, Susie and I decided to chance a trip to Maramec Springs. After seeing all of the destruction from the flood, we weren't sure what to expect. The water was still running strong and off colored so I had packed some ultra light spinning rods and some of the jigs I tie. We started at the pothole and immediately started catching small fish. We probably missed as many as we caught with the fish being so small. We fished the upper end down to where the bathroom is and continued catching fish with an occasional 12-17" fish thrown in. I did catch one little brown trout and a goggle eye and Susie caught a 10" smallmouth. We quit after fishing 4 hours and drove up to the hatchery. Didn't see many of the fish we had fed when we took the grandkids earlier this year. The park was/is really torn up with picnic tables crashed into trees and debris all over the place. Sure hated to see it that way as that was our go to place as teenagers to trout fish. bfishn, dpitt, Johnsfolly and 5 others 8
