He went by "Trav" and he talked a lot and wrote a lot but never saw a lot of evidence.  If half of what he would write was true it must of been pretty awesome back in the day down there.  Phil went down and met him a time or two if I recall.  For sure was interesting to read some of his stuff back in the day!

I'm with Swift on the Trav sounding awfully "windy" to me. There are a lot of folks that fish Taneycomo and I've never heard of much for big browns coming from way down lake. Heck I don't hear about much of anything being caught down lake at all, not even stockers. The winter trout tourneys used to be dominated by down lakers when I first started fishing them in 2017. Those guys don't even bother fishing down lake anymore because it's a waste of time.

Yeah that was him. I wasn’t a fan but it seemed people believed him. 
 

My dad used to bass fish the lower end some and had success. But I don’t recall him ever running across any big trout.
