Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted November 21 Root Admin Posted November 21 There's a young lady staying with us - and her dad - that's fishing in the college tournament this weekend on TR. Starting at Moonshine. I've taken it upon myself to help her with some info. Any ideas? Thanks
cheesemaster Posted November 22 Posted November 22 I can tell you that shaking a minnow on a 3/8 demiki head is catching a lot of fish for me and my buddy in the James. Main lake points in 20’ also finding them in standing timber in arms at the same depth. Lots of numbers with lots of line burners. I have started to catch a little better fish on a blade bait when you find them pinned to the bottom on roll off points. If you find large balls of Shad - there will be bass underneath them that are catchable - 1/2 oz jig head is better because those fish are deeper, closer to 30’ over 80’ of water in the guts of the arms. If you beat the banks - a jerk bait has been good for me on 45 degree banks or bluff walls. My buddy is hitting the same banks with an A rig and has been catching them on it. Hope that helps. Good luck to her!! BilletHead, Quillback, nomolites and 4 others 7
