Members misfitfishingco Posted June 30, 2017 Members Posted June 30, 2017 Definitely an accidental catch but a fight nonetheless. 10lb Trilene Big Game put in some serious work as I fought this fish for 15 minutes and never had any stretch or breaking (obviously) Biggest one of these i've accidentally caught so I thought I'd share. She was released but with the lower water will she be stuck up the river? I know they come up when it flooded but do they get back down to Table Rock? snagged in outlet 3, Royal Blue and Bass Yakker 3
Flysmallie Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 That's cool and probably quite a surprise. I think that a lot of them are resident river fish. I've seen them all over the James in flood years and in not.
MoCarp Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 those fish a tough, next one I wouldn't hold it by the gills if you release it...that being said of all fish prob be ok..once had 2 in back of a truck bed on a rainy day 45 minutes back home....but them in the creek behind the house....( had a lil swiming spot damed up) put them in to keep them cool before we clean them, and a heck of a time catching them again..they not only still alive but frisky! MONKEYS? what monkeys?
