It makes me wonder what it is about those spots that congregate them and hold them there. Typically the bass, crappie, ect. fishing in those spots is poor. Gar can actually use their swim bladder to supplement their breathing, kind of like lungs. Those areas could be ones with low dissolved oxygen.
