What's your favorite flies for Ozark stream smallmouth?

This has probably been talked about before...but I know my favorite selections seem to change over time.

Some flies that worked really well for me in sand-bottomed streams in Iowa (not many crayfish), were Blockhead Poppers, Conehead Kiwi Muddlers, chartreuse Woolly Buggers, F-C Pearl Shiner, and was starting to catch more on GameChangers.

With the Ozark rocky-bottomed streams, it makes sense that crayfish are a more common food item here, and I should add some to my fly boxes.  Crayfish fly patterns can be pretty simple, or rather complicated.  What are some favorites?

For topwater:. A #2 Sneaky Pete in white, or a Big Club Sandwich Hopper with a lime green belly-yellow center- dark olive back.

Mid-column:.  Bulkhead Deceiver in gray/wht. or Chartreuse/wht., A Dahlberg Flashdancer (gold over white), or a barred olive #4 rabbit strip leech.

Tickling the Bottom:. #2 Barred Olive Mudbug with 1/40oz. lead eyes.  Screenshot_20201228-134628~2.png

Most used- top water Gartside's Gurgler, Tap's Bug; subsurface Woolly Bugger, Calcasieu Pig Boat, but there are dozens of others that work just as well.

What good looking bugs. A strong fondness for FishnDave's creations.

Simple and to the point. Big and loud. Very nice. Especially for my color blind eyes.

They all look great. I am sure you guys bring plenty of fish to hand with those.

Makes me want to hit the vise with a new found fever.

Just once I wish a trout would wink at me!
