  1. Was down Friday, Saturday, and Sunday till noon. Was looking for Walters. Friday morning WT 45-46..Saturday morning 46 Sat afternoon 51...Sunday morning 47....very windy all three days..couldn't fish main areas I usually fish for Walters..Friday found bank that I could fish below K Dock, threw the Ned... 1 short Walter..7 bass (1 16" Spot). SAT...Caught 4 Walters (2 keepers)..all on DVD swim-n-shiner (4")..Sunday fought the wind..had trolling moter issues...the big"0" not a bite...2 boats took out Sunday same time as me..they had been crappie fish'n..said they caught several, only 5 keepers on minnows over brush.
  2. Luv the Dew... the bowl of fish is just a Bonus. Nice report...thanks
  3. Nice report...have you been to BS with your spoon lately...just wondering if same type bluff ends would work there...
  4. Nice report Ras...same Flicker that I use...have your bow????
  5. It's a quick change clevis....go to Jann's Netcraft.. (excellent catalog for making your own tackle)...I picked mine up at BP.
  6. Fantastic report!!!! Heard a rumor that the "spoon guy", catches several "walters " and keeper bass, spooning around the brush piles on flats and channel swings in low light conditions....haven't tried it yet. But a lazy and cloudy day on the water.....
  7. I use 10 lb leader not 20....sorry
  8. Here's my take on bottom bouncers... wasn't quite pleased with the commercial bouncers, so I came up with my own.. (been known to Frazierize most of my tackle and baits). Didn't like the commercial bouncer because of the weight and the way the worm harness was attached to the rig. I changed the weight system by using steel leader with 1/2 oz worm sinkers attached to a inline spinner clasp. This allows me to add or take away the 1/2 oz worm sinkers as needed, I like to use glass beads between the worm sinkers. This also allows me to give line at the time of the bite with no resistance to the spinning worm. I then attach my worm harness with a ball bearing swivel to my main line (2 way heavy swivel). I usually use 4-5 feet of mono/fluoro leader usually 20 lds....you can use your favorite beads, floats, etc. Most Important....I attach my slow death hook with stinger hook with a ball bearing swivel....the more the worm spins the more strikes you will....if the worm is not spinning, in my opinion you are not going to catch a walleye.... Here's my method...I use 15 lb braid (6 lb dia). Less line resistance, more feel. I like to troll about 1 to 1.4 mph. I have my reel in free spool, this allows me to letout line as needed to keep in contact with the bottom and to get the bait farther away from the boat...I use 1 1/2 oz weight, this works well up to about 30 foot depth. 2 oz over 30 foot....This works for me...good luck
  9. Had 2 good weekends chasing walters with my brother. ....Sept 23-26 fished out of K-Dock down....found them in 30-37 feet on white and cole slaw colored spoons....had 43 walleye with 19 keepers...2 over 5, 1 over 6....went back down October 1st &2nd....lost them....moved up to Beaver...fished from Beaver to the Johnson Hole...ended up catching 18 walleye...with 8 keepers...nothing of any size 18-20 inchers....2 on spoons...started dragging bottom bouncers....found the rest in 27-30 feet.
  10. Missouri Department of Conservation was at Forsyth on March 16 of this year for their annual shocking for walleye. Mr. A.J.Pratt and his walleye crew showed up about 6:00 P.M. with 4 boats to start collecting the walleye to take to their hatchery at Mt.Vernon. They were looking for 150 males and 50 females (3 to 1 ratio). By 9:30 (3rd boat) they had their 50 females. They had 2 29 inchers (11 to 12 pounders ), a 27, 2 26 inchers, the rest were 24 down to 16 inches. There was a couple of females that had already spawned, several was flowing, but most were pre-spawn. The main guy from the hatchery stated that the process usually takes about 10 days to 2 weeks to extract the eggs and sperm and fertilize the eggs. That all the walleye taken would be returned to Forsyth. They plan to release 320,000 fingerlings back in Bull Shoals, 220,000 in Norfolk.
  11. Reading Mr Babler's post on Aunts Creek 3/22, he mentioned local guide Bill Beck. While leaving Florida last month from chasing crappie on Lake Okeechobee. In the St Cloud /Orlando area I saw this road sign.
  12. You can launch your boat at Shadow Rock city park at Forsyth or at the COE ramp at Beaver Creek...good bait shop at Forsyth is Tri-Lake up the hill at the 4-way stop by car wash...Joe has been in business there for years..he can satisfy most of your tackle needs including minnows and shiners..there is a private camp ground Bar Bee camp ground..$15 / night (electric, water and sewer) located at the end of the bridge at the entrance of River Run park....good luck the walleye fishing has been REALLY SLOW...but it is time for them to be here
  13. Pic of ramp at River Run
  14. The gates are now open....people are now driving around, fishing off the banks, using the pinic area. BUT....don't think that the boat ramp is usable!!! The parking lot is open, no trash...however the ramp just above water level is covered with thick, black, wet mud... there is a mud island sticking up about 4-5 feet out past the ramp in the middle of the lake.... looks like one brave soul attempted but eventually though better... Also...for those fishermen who actually catch a fish (I'm just a fisherman at the present time).. the cleaning station at Shadow Rock is now open and usable. The water is on, the gut tube has been straightened out, and the light works.. They have been running water over the dam full time since Saturday. Water temp is 46, good current. You can see a white jig in about 3 1/2 feet.
  15. Sorry for double post
  16. Shadow Rock Park was opened Friday. Launched my boat Friday afternoon with no issues. Ramp is in good shape without mud on ramp like Beaver. Water temperature at Pot Hole was 47, could see white jig in 3 1/2 feet. Power Site was running generators Friday, Saturday and Sunday. For me fishing was good, catching was terrible (1 keeper walleye in 11 1/2 hours ). There's always tomorrow.....

  18. Thanks....figured Beaver would be the best (closest).....got new boat didn't want to chance it....walleye should be moving up there...
  19. Hoping to make it to Forsyth this weekend. Wondering if anyone has any reports and if there is a place you can launch a boay
  20. I would go to K-Dock, more water, better fish'n. K-Dock is located on K Hwy off Hwy 76 between Branson and Forsthye. Ramp is now open with 7 marked parking spots on payment several more just off payment, They now have the courtesy dock pulled up so that you can have access to your boat.
  21. One of the guys in the shocking boat made a comment the other night, "that they picked up a lot of their fish off the left bank going up off the gravel bank". I feel like the area that he was referring to, was the area in your 3rd pic below the fisherman. Great pics....
  22. 3/13/13 Arrived River Run at approximately 3:00 PM, could see some current, went down stream. Fished right hand bank before Barker, had 3 nice whites and 1 18 in. walter. Throwing flicker shad. Current stopped by 4 and so did the bite. Went to Barker, fished west and south of Island, along west bank and nothing. Moved to lower side of Barker and fished transition bank without a bite. Saw a guy throwing the A-Rig below me on the mud flat, didn't see him catch anything either. Went back up and fish the bank that I started on. At approximately 7:00 pm The Shocking Boat passed headed to Barker. I headed back to River Run and found the Conservation set up on the ramp with their equipment to catch their brood stock of walleye for the nursery. I stayed and watched them till 10:00 pm, at that time they had 36 sows and 134 males. Their goal was 50 sows and 150 males (1-3 ratio). The biggest Sow was 24.4 inches with the males running from 15 to 23.5 inches (17-19 was the average). They had two free flowing (drop'n their eggs) sows that they milked there at the ramp (that was pretty cool). They had a table set up with a stainless steel bowl that the eggs were deposited in. They had a 3 ft. rubber tub with 2 electric probes to re-stun the fish so that they could handle them. They collected the sperm from 6 males and mixed it with the eggs. They activated the eggs/sperm with 1 qt of "dirty" water (a substance called Feller's Earth) and stirred the mixture with a turkey feather (the eggs doesn't stick to it and it doesn't damage the eggs). After one hour they drained the "dirty water" and collected the eggs. The two sows generated less than 1/2 a quart of fertile eggs. I was told that 1 quart of eggs equal to about 120,000 eggs. Brad told me that they had received 20 sows and 60 males from Black River below Clear Water Dam. That one of the sows weighted over 14 lbs and that they got 3 1/4 quarts of eggs from that one fish. Was told that Mo stocked approximatey 320,000 frey last year while Ark dumped 280,000. Brad said that they raise the frey to 1 1/2 inches.
  23. The story I heard was that Ras and his Dad saw this fish strugling on top with a huge shad stuck in its mouth. Ras casted over and foul hooked it..... the rest is history Paco
  24. Here are some pics of the "Pot Hole" when the lake was really low several years ago
