  1. True. The older I get the less apt I am to buying that stuff. On the other hand, if I can't be on the water I watch a bunch of shows and videos to scratch that itch.
  2. I wish I would have talked you earlier. I just bought some the other day. I could have bought them from you. I'm fishing Okie Bfl and lipless cranks are vital over there.
  3. This reminded me of the Pro Team Journal that I watched this weekend. They had the new 2 tap Strike King Red Eye shad with a tungsten weight. It was so over the top I almost threw up. They were fishing Toledo Bend and Rayburn. (Classic Lipless lakes) acting like they were catching them due to the different rattle sound. "He bit that like he had never heard that before, cause he hasn't Ha Ha Ha" Cheesy would be an understatement.
  4. There will be some disappointed folks. A lot of guys swear by those in winter time.
  5. They still sell them on Tackle Warehouse but everyone complains about the quality and lack of getting the quantity they are supposed to get. Bottles being short a trailer or two.
  6. Just looking for recent updates on water clarity. Thank you
  7. For those of you who haven't used braid on a spinning reel. It is essential to put a mono backing tied directly to the reel. If you tie braid directly to the spool the spool will spin under that braid and not reel line in.
  8. You gotta watch the wording on those ads. They will try to deceive. Must say Pre Rapala and I must see wiggle wart under the bill or I am out.
  9. That was not me. I think that's the guy that pulled up right before I left. He was tossing an A-rig.
  10. Good job!
  11. I tried a jerkbait in the spots where I caught multiples and no takers. Might have been the color. I threw a shiny gold/orange belly/brown back Vision 110. Figured they would bite that color. Not a sniff. Ham. I had a hard time putting Ned Beatty down but I had to try some other things. I kept going back to it and eventually stuck with it after crank and jerk didn't produce.
  12. Here it is. Cove on the right. The point you would run straight into when you come in. What is the name of this cove?
  13. I wasn't sure. I didn't take the time to weigh any of them. I just figured my best 5 averaged 2lbs each. The back of Owl Creek was on fire around 11-1pm. As you are going to the very back there is a steep bluff bank with a dock at the end of it. 2 good ones came from under there. The point in the pic is right behind that dock. I think I could have got more bites there but I wanted to go other places and try to duplicate the pattern. There is a cove that is around the corner from Emerald Beach. It goes a ways, but it was hidden from the wind. South facing gravel/chunk rock bank. There were several there too. I will try to find overhead pic. U guys can tell me the name.
  14. Yeah. I need to put my decal on my boat too. It was just nice to be catching fish again. I didn't care what size they were.
  15. Nice job Champ.
  16. Not my cup of tea either Champ. I did throw one a little bit.
  17. I saw a lot of folks throwing the A-rig today. Anyone here have any success on it today?
  18. Put in at Eagle Rock around 7:30. No action around there so I made a move to Roaring River. Caught 3 real quick on a channel swing with a shallow ledge. Used a Bandit 300. Got tough with no more bites on the crankbait. It was 11:30. No wind and sun was high. So I make a decision to try the Ned under a dock and it was on. I was in the back of Owl Creek. After I caught 2 off the dock I moved to the point in the back( see pic ) I caught around 10-12 bass off that point. After I figured out they wanted sun. I moved to south facing points the rest of the day. Caught approximately 30 bass. 2 ky and the rest were blacks. Best 5 probably 10lbs. I had a blast today.
  19. I think I'm gonna be able to make it. My BFL on Grand is the 19th. Hope to make it. Love to meet you folks.
  20. Thank you. I got my butt kicked on Grand Sunday. No clear water on that lake. I was there scouting for upcoming tournament and put in by the dam. I knew it was gonna be tough when I saw how dirty the water was.
  21. Yeah. Those are not fun to watch. MLF is the best fishing show by far right now. The only show I like as good or better is "Schooled" by Denny Brauer. I've only seen a few of those but they are great. If some of you haven't seen it, the basis is to let an amateur angler fish a lake for a day. Then Denny critiques their performance and tells them what they could have done it that situation to do better. There is a couple of episodes on YouTube. If anyone has copies of his series I would love to rent or borrow them.
  22. Nephew of Keith Poche. Sad to hear. I need to get my concealed carry license after hearing about these boat ramp incidents.
  23. Watson did well enough not to use last resort approach at Dale. Might have been overcast too.
  24. Is that a warm water tactic or can at be applied in winter too?
  25. James Watson is putting on a clinic with his big spoon on docks. Anyone know what brand and size he is using? He is a character for sure.
