I had promised Mama a good fish for Mother's Day and I failed miserably but I finally redeem myself on Father's Day. She caught it in 15 feet of water on a wobble head with a sweet Beaver. Better late than never
Was that on the Rock? It's been a long time since I've caught a six pounder. I know the LM are a bit lazy and are opportunistic feeders. I've caught some dandies in past years under white bass. This year I haven't been able to find any whites feeding.
Now I realize why I like you!! Now my wife doesn't think I'm really THAT sick anymore. Remember this, he who dies with the most fishing tackle; has biggest garage sale. I just hope she doesn't price it all, based on what I told her I paid for it.
I haven't been able to catch them on the flutter spoon. I have had success with a 1/2 & 3/4 oz. white spoon fishing vertical. Mostly small spots in 20 to 25 fow.
Happy that you and your family had a good trip and caught a few fish. With all the rain and color that we have, topwater has not been very productive. Sometimes, mid October can provide some decent tw action. The weather is a bit more stable and the colors add to the beauty of our lake. We are truly blessed to live and fish on this awesome body of water.
