  1. I really enjoy fishing the tube as well and the Ned really mucked that up BUT I didi notice a couple of times where the tube got me bigger bites than the Ned did that day. Less bites but larger fish. It's useful to have several options on deck and cycle between them. Tough to put the Ned down because I honestly believe I am costing myself fish when I am using something else.
  2. Me too! Odds are it won't hurt UNLESS I catch a BUNCH.
  3. My arm is actually feeling a WHOLE lot better. I'm going to stick with stretching, meds, and ice. We'll see how it is doing after the Redfish trip. Lol.
  4. I hate that the deal fell through.
  5. I glad you were able to get it done. Somebody got a heck of a deal.
  6. iF i COULD, I would be unemployed and divorced with fishing elbow in both arms. I'd die hungry, but happy.
  7. AWESOME! Shoot me a text and if I am in town and it is at all possible I'd like a meet and greet.
  8. Wow that was fast. I'm really happy for you guys. I have my fingers crossed that you'll be joining the Bass Cat family sooner rather than later.

Some summertime bass tournaments have HORRIBLE release survival rates, but tournaments were a huge part of C&R fishing gaining popularity. I wouldn't personally er participate in a summertime tourny or tournaments that I didin't feel like had a good enough weigh in process. I'll look at those studies as soon as I can. I can't look at that one now, but I'll look for others on my own as well. I have no doubt that I kill a few fish accidentily each year without ever seeing it. I'd be shocked if I killed more accidentily than your average gigger did on a per outing basis.

I agree that some fish are dying after being caught and released EVEN IF they look fine when they swim off. I don't think that it is 2-3 % on the fish I catch. Could you point me in the right direction to read those studies? Summer time bass tournaments with release taking place after hours in a livewell IS NOT the same as me standing waist deep in a river and releasing a fish that leaves the water for about 15 seconds while I remove a single hookpoint. IF you see guys you fish with treating the fish poorly, I sure you could speak up and educate. I hate seeing pictures of fish laying on boat carpet or on the ground for a photo op. I often leave my fish in the rubber landing net in the water while I get my phone ready and then remove the fish from the water for the photo. The fish in my pictures often have water running off of them in the photo because I've just pulled them from the water. I'm all about taking pictures, but lets not put the fish at risk to do so. I know several people that I really like and respect that are giggers, but man the Bad Apples have ruined the barrel for me on this one.
  11. Thanks for the tip BB.
  12. Why would he propose that legislation? What does he see as the upside?
  13. It's actually really easy.
  14. I'm VERY happy with my boat. I wasn't thrilled I picked up a screw in my trailer tire and had to change that tire before I could trailer home, but it wasn't too bad
  15. Wow Rick, if you guys get a little lucky with weather, that trip could be epic. About 3 days on the river is all I can put together at my stage of life, but 4 days would be nice. I tend to be a little bit of a grinder though and I'm pretty worn out after 3 days. Maybe I'll learn to pace myself, eventually.
  16. Keep in mind that all th NSAIDs increase your relative risk for heart attack. Most irritate your stomach and pile on the damage if you are taking other meds that can damage your stomach. Naproxen is great, but it really increases your risk for bleeding. Relative risk that is. I am currently taking naproxen twice a day. Same dose as recommended by the podiatrist when my achillies tendon got inflammed. I try to have food onboard when I do and I have an end date in mind. I'm not recommending anyone take 800 mg of ibuprofen three times a day. That amount is prescription only. My arm is feeling lots better. Still stretching, still icing at times, NSAIDs, and looking at some exercises.
  17. Yep and I get 10-20 mph tomorrow. Sucks to be me. Did you try a FNF? A rig? that nasty little cheater deal that you make jigs for? FB jig spy bait? You caught 8 real nice fish in 4 hours. I'd take that.
  18. BFT, You have the app for your phone right? search COE Little Rock district. It is "real time" data ion discharges and a schedule of predicted releases for a bunch of dams.
  19. NO !!! I let the fish stretch them for me. This X 1000
  20. Very nice at times

    Happy Birthday!

I'm never at the spot that shows birthdays. Happy Birthday Bill!
  22. I live less than a mile from the Tracey Ferry boat place, you should have swung by Lol. I moved up about 8 years ago and plan on living in this area for the rest of my life. I'll try to catch up with you this spring.
  23. Having seen the Shroom head first hand, the wire of the hook seems AWFUL thin. Great for hooksets with light line, but not so great for long life of the jighead. Planned obsolescence? Honestly, I'll go back to the Skinny Bears before that.
  24. I'm struggling to imagine a scenario where I would camp on the river for two nights in the same spot.
  25. Dillard's Ferry to Shipp's Ferry on the White.
