  1. On the finesse worm and wire, I think both. 20 lb Flurocarbon might be difficult for the fish to see, but it would still overpower the finesse bait and ruin a big part of what makes it attractive. With a big freaking piece of wire attached, you be hard pressed to catch pressured fish for sure. Most lures allow some leeway in fishing line used, but there is a place for 6 thru 20 lb in my fishing. Others can use what they please when they please. I spend a lot of time and energy trying to be a better fisherman, but it's nothing to get mad about.
  2. I want overnight lows to be no warmer than 65 degrees. You can get lucky and fish falling water any time of the year, but Apr, May, and June are the normal months to do overnight tips on the Buffalo.
  3. More trout at the beginning and more smallies at the end, but chances for both throughout the float. It's been years since I have fished that stretch, but I like it. You should catch fish and enjoy some cool, clear water. Bring a diving mask.
  4. Rush to Shipp's Ferry in 1 1/2 days isn't a fun trip, it's a death march. DO NOT TRY THAT WITH THESE AIR TEMPS AND THIS WATER LEVEL. I think you're crazy for camping with these air temps at all, but hey whatever makes you happy. You're other trip option is much more doable and enjoyable.
  5. Which is why I always use the Flicker Shad when trolling thru a walleye disco.
  6. I'm not taking issue with you, but I am taking issue with this statement. Please go take a piece of wire 12 inches long and rig it to a finesse worm. Drag that along and see how many bites you get or take a foot long length of cord and tie it in front of a Pop R and see if that affects the number of bites you get. IMO, the draw of having multiple lures in a school overwhelms the effect of that heavy wire, bjut that does not invalidate the use of lighter line being important on other rigs.
  7. Now that you guys bring it up, I kinda think there is a Spy Bait / Wooley Bugger connection. I get a lot of hits on both lures and only infrequently get a hook in the fish and even then only catch half of what I hook.

They are omnivores. Bugs, worms, carrion, veggies, mushrooms, and fruits. They really get excited about an earthworm.
  9. You mean like the Ned rig for example. A low cast easy way to absolutely knock the fish for a loop when they are < 20 foot deep.
  10. I've also used the Jack All Prop. It sinks much slower. I would think it is a better 0-10 option. I like the Duo better, but I've caught more bass on the Jackall

Lol. I've seen an ornate a couple of times. The shell on the ornate has a lot less dome look than the 3 toed. One of them was very young and it's shell was almost as flat as a river turtle.

Did you get to the part about them living their entire lives within a few hundred square yards IF they have all their habitat needs met? Or the part where the female box turtle can hang onto the sperm from a male turtle for several yearsin case she doesn't bump into a male turtle when the time is right. Monica Lewinsky hasn't got anything on FEMALE BOX TURTLE.

Melons do contain a lot of fluids.
  14. You are KILLING me with that stuff man. I LOVE fishing frogs. How would those do for Redfish on tidal grass flats?
  15. Good Deal Kyle!

or just reach down and pick it up. I really like box turtles. I might have to start planting melons to draw them into the yard. Lol.
  17. Too short for my tastes. Again, I think that is a very fair price.

    I bet he's full.
  19. It was interesting to see how the dominant forage changed thru the spring. I caught a lot of fish on the Ned rig. Over the course of the day, multiple fish throw stuff up on the way to the boat. It tended to be the same food source being thrown up by all the fish on a given day. Craws, then shad, then back to craws, and then baby breaqm. Lots and lots and lots of baby bream. I never got on the larger bluegill this year, but they apparently had a very successful spawn. I'm a little concerned that the crappie did not.
  20. maybe the no stretch nanofil is part of the problem, but I am fishing on a Light spinning rod. I tend to blame the itty bitty hooks.
  21. I've caught a handful down thru ypthat years in various parts of the lake. I've also caught one in the White River and almost caught another one in the White. I have talked to another diver that saw numbers of them in Sister Creek area.
  22. The main thing to consider is that I'm a bass fisherman and I set the hook WAY TOO FORCEFULLY. It's a character flaw.
  23. Not holding my mouth right I guess.
  24. Did you see any yellow perch?
  25. I throw mine on 8 lb Nanofil with an 6 or 8 pound leader. I catch more panfish than bass and the bass I have managed so far have been small. I have lost the larger fish I have hooked.
