  1. I like mine
  2. Nope. I’ve driven by it multiple times and fished DeGray and Ouachita multiple days. I would rather try Catherine than Hamilton although the temperate bass options are appealing
  3. It’s ironic that the Lake I share a name with is so over developed and overcrowded that I have ALMOST no interest in fishing it.
  4. Tampa Bay keeps having massive fish kills. Kinda makes me want to look elsewhere. I think I will target the Crystal River area.
  5. It seems like on my version of the White River that the large Browns can be very territorial. I believe the guides learn where they live and may catch the same fish multiple times.
  6. Kevin Morelock with Indigo Guide Service is the featured expert in the carp/SMB/pike on fly on flats. He’s a Good Dude and Very Knowledgable. Smart Guy. Will cancel a day if he thinks weather is going to be unsafe or make chances of success minimal.
  7. 1 down, 3 to go. April gets closer every day.
  8. Luck and Skill is a Great combo to have.
  9. Yes Sir On Fly with a visual eat. It was ehhhh Very Memorable. I saw it rush forward and engulf the streamer as it headed right at the boat. I strip set hard, but because the fish rocketed straight at the boat boat For a split second, I felt nothing and thought I had failed to get a hookset. Really excited when everything pulled tight. Kevin MorLock was the Guide. Look for Indigo Guide Service. He and his partner also guided us for Big Carp on fly in Michigan. I think they also guide for a Steelhead Run in the UP.
  10. Pete apparently has found the Brown Trout doughnut shop.
  11. My fish would have been a World Record on 12 pound tippet. Lol, I didn’t set the tippet or have any dreams of such silliness. I think I could have easily caught my fish on 12 lb tippet. Honestly, I thought talk of 30 lbers was Hyperbole and not realistic. My Buddy Tom booked a bunch of days this year and Got really Good weather a few days and just caught em and caught em. One day was All Topwater eats. I doubt I’ll ever catch another one like my Big Bull, but I caught that one.
  12. Happy Birthday DD! You’re one in 350 million. Mad props!
  13. Dave sending stuff that is fairly disturbing is fairly common.
  14. I have decent electronics with DI/SI. I can find brush piles with fish on them, but even with GPS waypoints it still takes time to find the known brush piles and position the boat. Cheater Scope puts you on the brush so much faster that traditional electronics AND you can quickly determine the activity level of the fish on the brush without dropping a bait. You can with experience determine the species and size of the individual fish. You can make sure your bait is optimally place as far as depth without being directly over the fish. it exponentially increases your effectiveness at catching fish. It makes an average fisherman much more effective at catching limits. It makes a “Hammer” a freaking SLEDGE HAMMER. I am not at all knowledgeable in how guys are using Cheater Scope for bass or other species. We will see long term effects on crappie populations, but I feel. Like part of how harvest limits are set is by determining how effective anglers are going to be at catching fish and how many anglers are oursukng them. I truly believe Cheater Scope is increasing crappie harvest. The relatively limited number of Cheater Scope users is the only saving grace. I do not currently own Cheater Scope, but I’m saving my pennies.
  15. Some live there all year. If you say there is a Spring push, Ok. I’m not sure there are enough there to make it a destination trip, but that’s your call. this was up by a private bridge not too far below the Springs caught August 27. 2015. Dang the years are flying by
  16. Lies All Lies A single specimen was collected in Apr/May of 98/99 in Greene County. It was very close to a baitfish farm. Prior to that one specimen was collected in 1894. I would like better odds than that.
  17. What The Hell Dave? You have intell on a fun little fish in a state I haven’t fished yet and I have to read about it on OA?

    Say What

I think most animals have more going on in their minds than we give them credit for, well except for armadillos. They are myopic and very dim.
  19. Well, now that you mention it…..
  20. One of these days maybe
  21. No Worries John. I’m not sure how you managed to pull it all together as it is. I guess you have all three lists and I just have one. I do appreciate it. I know that took some doing and aggravation.
  22. White perch is listed twice. please add Dusky Striped Shiner Holy Crap that’s a lot of different species. I’ll double check my list.
  23. I'll get a multiday shad trip in eventually. The first one of each species will be Special, but I am there to catch as many of them as I can. Cracks me up when guys say "You can catch all the White Bass You want". If I caught 500 White Bass in a single day, that might be enough. Might.
  24. You got a Big Gizzard on a Shad Dart also? Is this Big Stinky Native ok Marty ? IMG_0820.MOV
  25. It took a surprising length of time to sync up notebook and phone list to get this all straightened out. as of 12/31/2021 I was at 40 of the Arkansas counties completed. I should be able to get to 10-12 this year. Trust me when I say the easy ones (travel wise) have been done.
