Fished from 0830 until 1900 in the mid lake area. Main lake had beautiful 58 degree water. As is typical , water got warmer and picked up a little more more stain as you went back up the creeks.
it was my first trip on Bull this year (I should be ashamed) and it took a little bit to get some bites. We could get bit on transition banks on S L O W moved grubs and finesse Shakey heads.
water was actually very clear in the back of creeks from super clear rain run off. I felt like we did better in the middle third of a creek.
when we had clouds and a decent ripple on the water, Spinnerbaits and bladed jigs would get bit. When it got calm and sunny, that bite died.
sunny skies put fish tighter to brush and you could flip a few out. I had a terrible hook up ratio, but I did have a decent number of bites.
late in the day we even got a few fluke bites, but those Bass were smaller though. Late in the day we saw water temps as high as 63.
We had good numbers of fish and a really good percentage were keepers. Zero Smallies were caught. I did lodge an official complaint with AGFC about the lack of SMB in Bull Shoals.
