I'd bet it's a lot easier going downstream than back up.

I'm not the Keitech Master than QB is, but most of my fish just load on it. You might get a soft tick, but not a jarring strike. I got a nice Fat Spot on a swimbait Sunday morning that I barely felt at all. Wipers on the other hand Knock the Snot out of it.

The river constantly changes with high flow events. Free fall in and hang somewhere and gravel moves around. I'll never make a blanket statement about how to run this spot or that spot. I run a jet. I can run really shallow without destroying props or trashing a lower unit, but big rocks ruin my hull just the same as they would a prop boat. I would not expect to make it back up from CC to Rim at minimum flow. It might be that you can, but I won't try it. I'd prefer 2000 CFS to do it, but likely it could be done at less. I understand the desire for information, but you really need to put your time in and learn for yourself. There are good trout all up and down the river. Go make a few trips from each and every access point at various water levels. Take notes so you can pick your poison before starting a trip. Good Luck. Catch a bunch, but stay safe.

Pens win the Cup! I'm so very happy for Duper, Kessel, Maatta, Letang, and Crosby. Guys that have dealt with way more than their share or injury and/or criticism. No complaints on my end. Crosby hoists the Cup. I expected him to give it to Kessel first or maybe Letang or maybe Murray, but not Trevor Daley. I have since read that Daley's Mom is battling cancer and has a poor prognosis. Daley told Crosby how much his Mom wanted to see him hoist the Cup so Croaby made a point to give him the cup first. i would have cast my Conn Smythe ballot for Martin Jones. I thought he was the best player in the Finals and he had been big for the Sharks throughout the playoffs. Crosby had a great Playoff run no doubt and he was not a Bad choice, but without Jones. Pens sweep it and win my 3 goals a game. Jones stole at least one game for the Sharks. Think of the scores if Jones had been in net for the Pens. I'll try to enjoy this for a while. Big changes are coming to this club in the offseason. I'll worry about that later.

Martin Jones stole Game 5 for the sharks. The Pens were the better team for most of the Game. Jones had some puck luck as well, but deined the Pens again and again when they had quality chances. I knew with 10 minutes left the Pens would not score and figured the sharks would get an empty netter. Sucks. I freaking hated it. Murray's weak performance in the first period cost him the Conn Smythe and the Pens the game. How much more it costs them remains to be seen. 2 of the 3 goals were pretty soft. He stopped a few quality chances later, but that first period was not good enough. This series is Murray's to win or lose though. Unless Murray were to actually get injured, I do not see MAF getting anymore time in net. He's been inactive too long. It would be tough for him to get back up to game speed. I have grown to really dislike the sharks coach. I want the Pens to win for a lot of the Pens players and the Pens fans, but I also want the sharks to lose to shut their coach up for a while and to get those ugly butt beards of the sharks players cut off. so back to San Jose. I really wanted them to win in Pittsburgh, but I sure as hell do not want a Game 7. Let's Go Pens!

1) Keep a cooler in the truck all the time. 2) Keep the fish you choose to harvest in the livewell 3) On the way home, buy ice and move the fish to cooler. 4) Once they are good and dead, prep them for cooking

I hear you Marty. I'm more than impressed that you get them with a fly rod in that environment. Banging that fly out there repeatedly to get the strike. Getting them hook, and then getting them landed are all significant hurtles. I'm not sure who wore who down more. Long days and short nights. I'm sore, sleepy, and reliving catching those fish. I'm pretty sure I'm ruined.

Of course not, but it might mean that I would think you are more annoying than I want to be around. FTR, I don't remember you ever posting anything that bothered me in any way. But if you've made my ignore list, there's not any chance that I want to fish with you. I hope that special few have wonder productive lives that I never know anything about.

My slow days mean not catching enough to bother cleaning ( I want a minimum of 4 > 10 inch crappie). ANY day you get your limit is NOT slow. Good for you getting out there and getting them.

I'm just back from a brief intense multiday fishing trip with Richard Button who is a mutual friend with Billethead and I. While Richard is not an OA member, he is very much like a lot of the OA members that I have had the pleasure of meeting and fishing with. He is a good fisherman, a good citizen, and a great person to spent time on the water with. Some of the best people I know I have meet thru fishing. These people add a lot of joy to my life and have made me a better fisherman. We all have a finite number of days. I strongly encourage make the most of your opportunities to fish with friends new and old. I have never had a bad experience when I have meet up with a forum member. I'm not suggesting folks go fish with someone that gets under their skin with their OA posts ; that sounds like a terrible plan to me. BUT you can really get a feel for someone thru their posts over time and get a pretty good idea if it would be enjoyable to fish with them. So massive Kudo's to Richard Button. You Da Man! Thanks for guiding me and giving me some lifetime memories. What a great host and what a great trip!

Gosh, I hope they get in done in Pittsburgh tomorrow. They have been the better team in all four games. I can't imagine the Pens losing three in a row. The Pens have a very effective game plan for the Sharks. They will not lose focus and they will do the hard work. The Sharks have not had and answer for it and the Pens were much better at home in Games One and Two. if the Pens could just cash in a couple of their chances, it would make my life a lot less stressful. Lets Go Pens!

I already have looked into that. The company is Impulse rods. The Zell Rowland rod is $250 (plus shipping) and it is a split grip. If it's good enough for Zell, it's probably good enough for me, BUT I like that I know what I'm getting with an old All Star TWS. Thanks though. It is pretty random that I saw he was working with another company.

If I know Max, the jig head was nothing fancy. He may roll the best of the best with his hunting gear, but he keeps his fishing gear very basic. He Still catches them though.

I'm glad y'all were able to make that young man's life a little better. I'd hate to think about losing my Mother that early.
-
Alas for what might have been. The Pens were so close to making this a foregone conclusion, but a couple of small mistakes lead to a soft goal that tied things up and then a no hum puck slung at the net in OT ended it. i was pleased with the play and effort of the Pens in this game. sharks were better than in previous games, but not really better than the Pens. I still hope they can steal the next one in San Jose.

Wow ramman I can see how that would bum you out. Clearly, that guy doesn't get it.

Very nice. I don't think I have caught one that large. I think 26 inches is my largest so far.

Up by 3 AM ??? I'm gonna say you're a morning person.

I'm in the market for a couple of these. IF you have one laying around. I'd love to buy it from you or trade some gear I have. Thanks Ham hamneedstofish@hotmail.com or 870-736- three one three zero (cell)
