  1. I hate that we won't be going fishing together, but good on you for getting a paying gig that day. Lol, you have my cell phone number. A text would have worked, but this does too.
  2. I think Phil rents boats. It ought to be plenty safe. Rent a boat.
  3. As long as they are running more water out of TR than they are letting out of BSL, BSL is going to go up and up and up.

    The moss?

It certainly can be devastating to a fishery, but didymo seems to be incompletely understood. IF the didymo was going to take over the White, why isn't it just as bad downstream as upstream? Guys fished multiple locations with the same waders and boots for years, but the White seems to be the only river affected. I guess the wading boot ban is the best they can do, but it seems a little like elephant repellant to me. I don't think the felt ban is all that since pieces of didymo can cling to your waders and felt less boots and bootlaces as well. Water birds and boats/boat trailers could also transfer it could, but nothing has to this point. Clearly, the dumping of a bajillion fish a year makes the White River a hyper productive River, but the fish are healthy and full bodied. There is plenty of food in the River. Minimum flow has increased grass beds and keeps large areas wet which has increased food production. I certainly understand that didymo can get in the way of food production, but I don't think that didymo is reducing the food supply or my enjoyment of the River right now.
  5. I use 6,8,10 lb leader depending on strength of Nano and lure I am using. I use 10 lb when throwing full size tube and stuff like that. 6 lb for trout always. 6 and 8 on Ned. I know I lose more Ned's on 6 and I haven't noticed a difference in number of bites when throwing 8 lb. I bought some of the Chartreuse Nano. It's lots better on cloudy days and I like it on sunny days too.
  6. Its a pretty bait, but I'm going to stick with the 10 diffeent types of walk the dog baits I already have.
  7. Jungle Fever. I'm guessing it is a Yellow Magic Havana as opposed to the Yellow Magic poppers I was previously aware of.
  8. I am seriously jealous over all the meanmouth you guys have.
  9. I believe what you are telling us, but I don't understand how that can be.
  10. I think I know where your water is going.
  11. You should try Nanofil some time IF you want to throw a L-O-N-G way out there.
  12. Better to keep and eat than to throw back and die. I just hate to b=see big smallies fileted out. way too much fun to catch.
  13. Why did y'all kill that smallie? gotta turn loose the 18's to get 20's.
  14. Where the heck is the NOT LIKE button. I want 670 or less NOT 690!
  15. I've got that boat in a 17'. I really enjoy mine. I'll defer to Tetrrierman as he has more experience with canoes, but he said what I was thinking. I bet that would be a kick butt solo overnight boat especially if you balance you load should you are NOT nose heavy. You can tandem it, but you will need to watch your load and think before you cast. Guy in the front needs to watch how far he reaches back when casting and guy ion the back needs to make sure rods don't clash and be ready to duck.
  16. There's drama?
  17. Color me confused as all get out.
  18. Gosh, I hope not. This was fun and all, but I would love for them to get this turned around.
  19. I had many square miles of very clear water and it did not help my topwater bite at all. I wouldn't have minded a little stain in the water,
  20. Well, a lot of the young of the year should make it. not that the lake needed a lot more fish. Man, did we get lucky with our timing.
  21. WHAT! Why? It had room to go. A buddy launched there a few days ago and said it would be good for many more feet.
  22. I fished from roughly 7AM to 7PM. I spent the first three hours trying to catch top water fish. I got 10 bites and zero fish to the boat. I did get a couple of just barely short walleye dragging a tube and a jig worm around, but I decided to quit fishing and start catching. I can't seem to catch them in the creeks, but I can in the main lake areas. So back out to the main lake I went. I am fishing main lake in 20-35 foot of water. I caught fish on 4 inch tubes, jig worm, and 4 inch grub. Colors varied. I tried a bunch and got bit on most. I had a great day for walleye. I caught 7, but all of them were short. They will be keepers by the end of the summer, but they weren't today. I caught 45 bass. Every one of them was a smallmouth. Lots and lots of shorts, but I had some good ones too. I'm pretty frustrated that I couldn't get some topwater fish. Water temps were 71-73. Water clarity was very clear. Take Note. The road to the ramp at Jimmy Creek is under water. I was able to launch today, but they were closing the road after all the boat trailers were out. If planning to use this ramp, you should figure that 674 Is about the highest water that allows that ramp to be used. The ramp immediately behind Eastwald's Boat shop is open and I am told it will always be open, but the parking situation is iffy.
  23. Larry Babin is a fly fishing guide and puts a lot of folks on big fish with hoppers. He rows an Adipose drift boat. He said it has already started and I think the trout always look for hoppers when the wind blows. I think it will be better soon, but it is happening already.
  24. I only wish It was to hook the boat up. I sent all day with my cousin in the crawl space on our bluff shack putting extra support beams. Dark, dusty, spider invested, rocks everywhere, and hard to move around much less push a 4 x16 x 16 concrete block in place. It sucked. Hit the White River afterwards, but a pulse of high water had trashed it up bad. I caught 6 and my cousin got 2, but he had a real nice Brown.
