You could work on kicking out a "Preacher" Jig clone. It is a niche bait that would likely work up river arms especially when they have flow. They should sell nicely.
  2. I spent a few nights at one of the Can-U-Canoe cabins over the New Years holiday. We stayed in the Eagle Roost Cabin with 4 other couples and there was room for even more people than that. It was about 5 miles west of Eureka Springs. The cabin was very nice. Garage for two cars. Tremendous view out of the back of the cabin across the White River Valley. Pool table, Foosball Table, Wet Bar, Dish Network on the TV'S, washer/dryer, Full kitchen, and a massive water heater so no one is ever goning to have a cold shower. The cabin basically wasn't lacking for anything. We enjoyed using the hot tub both nights we were there. The 105 degrees offset the 20 something degree air temps very nicely. Amazingly enough my wife and I were the only couple that wanted to partake. Their loss ; It was great. We saw Bald Eagles flying behind the cabin everyday. The view was killing me though since fishing was not in the cards. The view was looking at the White River between the Hwy 62 bridge and the Hausman access. I need to fish that stretch of river one of these days. Check in time was a standard 3 PM and check out was 1100. I would definitely use them again and recommend them if you are looking for a Top End cabin in that area.
  3. I let the fish stretch them for me.
  4. Yes, you missed something. I have grabbed the kool aid pitcher and drained it. I made no effort to re-invent the wheel. Dave has pointed us in the Loc Tite Gel option. Blue and gray dispenser. Less is more. Small amt of gel on target. Clean excess from tip and store bottle upright when you can.
  5. Playing the water level game is another part of the process. Sometimes there isn't a best option and you just have to deal with it. The weather continues to jack up my plans. I'm starting to hate the cold weather period.
  6. The Mc Stick is a good bait. Several size options. Ever expanding color selection. Available in three sizes. It's pretty durable too especially when compared to its high priced import alternative. Mc Sticks seem to be offered at reduced prices a bunch. If you'll keep an eye out for it, you have a chance to get them at 20-30 % off retail and stock up.
  7. MAYBE HE'LL BRING THEM TO THE OPEN MARKET.
  8. do you think the fish might move up into that fresh water and feed a little bit?
  9. Yeah, Homeboy needs some Sunshine.
  10. Water has a little color to it I guess.
  11. Lol, you did a lot better than me Bret. I had a major malfunction with my outboard and didn't get to fish a lick. I did get the foot off Muey jet and at a minimum I'll get the impeller off and file some of the nicks out of it and maybe get it shimed up. I'll be glad to show you that knot again. Hopefully, we can fish together soon.
  12. The miles of water was the first thing that hit me when I saw the thread title. I really try not to run that much in a day anymore.
  13. Champ, did you guys try any other jerkbaits besides the RC STX? I wonder if a LC Pointer, Spro McStick, Spro McRip, Megabass 110 or 110 +1, or Rspala X Raps would have triggered any other bites. I like to fish something different than what my fishing partner is throwing.
  14. The powder paint jars make it super easy to paint jig heads a few at a time.
  15. Awesome! I have an excuse to buy some pink ones now.
  16. Well, I'll have to have some 5 hook models for Arky and 3 hook versions for MO, but FULL SIZE all the way.
  17. I'll come up with all kinds of crazy ideas as the year rolls along, but for right now I'm planning on keeping things simple. I'll try to keep the crazy ideas to myself as much as possible. 1) Fish with my Dad 2) Fish in salt waterat least once. 3) Catch fish in two new states and at least 5 states all together. 4) catch more different species of fish than I did last year. I'll keep up with the number of fish I catch, but I don't have a target number that I'm trying to reach. I didn't have a target number for 2014 and I caught more fish than ever before. Maybe that will happen again, but likely not. I caught a pile of fish in 2014. Thanks to my fishing friends new and old for the fun you helped bring to my life this year. I enjoyed it and I appreciate you. Happy New Year! I hope you are blessed mightily in 2015.
  18. I was thinking about trying 5 balls of Power Bait on a trout A Rig. Has anyone experimented with which 5 colors might work best?
  19. Very Nice RPS. That's not a fish, but cool anyway. I hope you were gentle with it.
  20. So it looks like I ended up with 29 or so species. I'll try to do better in 2015
  21. Not photographed but caught include Longear Sunfish, Lingnosed Gar, Cut Throat Trout, CutBow Trout, and Chestnut Lamprey
  22. Northern Hog Sucker
  23. Drum or Gaspergoo
  24. Hybrid Striper . And why I should just do selfies
