  1. While the creek may be a little lacking in visual appeal, it is magic none the less. you shouldn't think this fishing is easy. Getting in place to sight cast these fish is a beatdown. Tuesday midday was miserably hot and humid. I eventually had to Tap Out or die on the Rip Rap. Dave earns every one of these fish. The fish will be ok ; the rain should help give them a little cooler water
  2. Sorry duplicate
  3. It bled some and hopefully washed the cooties out
  4. 84) Golden Shiner ! Finally, I can stop pestering ppl about locations for this guy. Magic Man Dave knew a pond on Conservation land that had some. it was a Struggle. Hot! Lots of vegetation to fish around, but eventually I figure out a jig/float combo to get out far enough away to where they were Dang thing somehow buried the jig in my hand, but Dave the Medic did the string trick after we got back to the car. I continued to fish with jig planted in hand. I really wanted a second one. The Bluegill were just getting to the bait too quickly. Darkness caught us and I wanted the jig out so I gave up after 11 more bluegill and walked to the First Aid Station (aka Dave's Car).
  5. Pretty jealous of your eel catches. I'll get there. One of these days.
  6. Yeah only available in a few select areas and numbers are low
  7. 83) Grass Carp First one on 2 lb line on the TCB. The next 5 on fly.
  8. 82) Koi @FishnDave was gracious enough to guide me around his spots to give me chances at different fish and flyrod targets. I appreciate it so Very Much. I got several Koi. This was my first. On 2 lb line and a micro jig with the Leland TCB rod. Most of the rest were on flyrod, but it's been a HOT, Sweaty Blur the last couple of days and I can't swear I didn't catch another one on spinning.
  9. If I was going to use house fly as bait, I would fish them as maggots. But that's really nasty stuff man. I'm not there yet.
  10. I had a brief affair with XF rods. I got over it. I'm nippier with Fast rods. I have a couple of medium rods I like. Look at the St Croix Eyecon series. There is one for jigging. Big fan. I have a couple of Cara Medium spinning rods. They can put a lot of heat on a fish
  11. Wut? Fish was caught on artificial fly
  12. 81) Goldfish on Fly!
  13. 80) Shortnose Gar, tried for eel in the Mississippi River. I found lots of Shortnose Gar instead. Lots.
  14. 79) Gizzard Shad Dave Reeves was the first person I messaged.
  15. Dang that's harsh
  16. Let me know when you want to see more. I believe I can wrangle a few out of every woodpile. Want Brown Recluse? Put a bunch of cardboard boxes in Your garage. skunks will be Super active in October. copperheads will be in your yard from time to time after dark, but unlikely you'll see cottonmouth . tarantulas are a harbinger of fall. You'll see makes hoping to get Lucky when they Get Lucky. They are harmless and on a one way trip. No adult males survive winter. We can talk flying stinging things later.
  17. been preaching that for years
  18. 78) Hybrid Striped Bass aka pulling machine we were fishing a big back Eddy that had quite a few Large active Gar. I tried my rope fly, Nope. I threw that Firetiger DT10 again. I made love contact a couple of times, but no hookup. I put on a large jointed wake bait hoping for a Gar and outta of the cloudy sky this miracle fish shows up and eats.
  19. It's about time for a really good Hopper bite, but I've caught fish on it in February before so there's that.
  20. 77) Skipjack Shad : so this fish was caught right after the Sauger and Walleye, but much higher in the water column. Super Happy to get this one without having to make a separate run especially for them. I ended up catching 5 of them including one on fly. Literally, I could have dozens of I had devoted the day to that.
  21. 76) Walleye: kinda late to the party. I usually catch a few while bass fishing Norfork/Bull Shoals in the Spring, but I did not do enough of that this year. this was one of my targeted species yesterday. much smaller and skinnier that I would have chosen, but that's the first of the year. Now, I need one on fly
  22. 75) Sauger : what a pleasant surprise
