That's Great catching by the way!!! I love to catch crappie. That would be an awesome day for me just catching crappie after crappie. Let me get this 100 species thing taken care of of and I'll get back to my roots next year.

Mojo rig told me that 40% of annual Bass mortality happens in the couple of months around the spawn. Poor fish handling has to be a part of that.

55) Flier, It's possible that I caught a Flier as a child and just that it was a funny looking crappie, but I have for sure caught one now. on a fly rod no less. And then 15 minutes later, lightening struck again. These were Arkansas fish. About 1/2 the drive time required to get to Mingo Swamp.

I drive. A lot.

54) Bowfin First of three Bowfun I caught today. Switched to the flyrod and caught one on one of Marty's Clousers

That's Awesome! Time slips away from us and by the time you realize it, there aren't many of those Special trips left. I'm very glad you guys made it happen.

Fished from 0830 until 1900 in the mid lake area. Main lake had beautiful 58 degree water. As is typical , water got warmer and picked up a little more more stain as you went back up the creeks. it was my first trip on Bull this year (I should be ashamed) and it took a little bit to get some bites. We could get bit on transition banks on S L O W moved grubs and finesse Shakey heads. water was actually very clear in the back of creeks from super clear rain run off. I felt like we did better in the middle third of a creek. when we had clouds and a decent ripple on the water, Spinnerbaits and bladed jigs would get bit. When it got calm and sunny, that bite died. sunny skies put fish tighter to brush and you could flip a few out. I had a terrible hook up ratio, but I did have a decent number of bites. late in the day we even got a few fluke bites, but those Bass were smaller though. Late in the day we saw water temps as high as 63. We had good numbers of fish and a really good percentage were keepers. Zero Smallies were caught. I did lodge an official complaint with AGFC about the lack of SMB in Bull Shoals.

53) Spotted Bass , It took me 1/2 through April, but I got it Done. I probably had a dozen Spots today.

@FishnDave if it weren't for weather/Covid I would have helped you get Chain Pickerel already, but we will make that happen before June. You have shots at Warmouth and Bowfun too.

52) Freshwater Drum : I was hosted by Les yesterday in Waldo's sister boat Gracee. @BilletHead was close by in his boat with his better half Pat. we found a lot more than a few willing biters. my hands are destroyed. Ill let them speak to location or not, but man, I wish I could fish there more often.

I don't have a spread sheet on miles driven nor my wife's patience, but I rest easy knowing that your wife supports your obsession better than mine does. Lots of miles though. Lots of miles.

There is a LOT of time spent planning and researching. Making a list and checking it twice.

I get Lucky sometimes and get a bonus fish that was not targeted ; other times I drive a long way hoping to catch a particular fish. Stuff will become more and more targeted. I have about 25 more "easy" fish to catch around me.
