  1. I think many people have resigned to Alabama-Georgia for SEC title but I'm not sold yet. I think Arkansas, A&M, Auburn, and Florida may have something to say about any given Saturday.
  2. As an Arkansas fan, I'm pretty happy with how things are going. Honestly I expected nothing more than improvement over last year and we're 2 solid wins ahead of that at this point. That being said.....we're 1 month from Georgia slipping by a Clemson team that, at the time, we thought would be a playoff team. Hindsight being 20/20 that win looks a whole lot less impressive than it did but still that 1st game can be a trap when its week 1. The wins of UAB and Vandy are what they are...much like Arkansas win over Georgia Southern. I think Texas(Big 12) is vastly over rated but A&M isn't a joke maybe over ranked but I think their certainly top 25 material. I'm personally giving Georgia the edge based on it being in Athens and Arkansas coming off the high of running the Texas tables but I think Vegas is high on the 18pt. favorite. Would not surprise me to be very close ball game into the 4th quarter when the depth of Georgia finally wears down Arkansas. FWIW I'm already sick of Arkansas fans on facebook. I'm already seeing things like #1 in the country based on strength of schedule of games played and all that malarky. Right now Arkansas looks vastly improved but until they knock of Gerogia or Alabama their still at best a mid-tier SEC team that's better than most other power 5 conferences teams. We're going to know a whole lot more after Saturday assuming major injuries don't reek havoc.
  3. Hahaha you may be onto something. I know a couple people doing it.....I don't know if they make any good money at it....but their still working at the gas station.
  4. I really think were going to see many industries begin to trim things we once took for granted. Walmart use to be open 24 hours. Locally it no longer is, have to wonder how profitable it was to close for 6 or 7 hours multiple that by the number of stores. Certainly easy to claim "trouble finding employees" but still turn it into a net profit +. Probably very similar with closed lobbies at FF.
  5. Wonder how much of it was COVID induced layoffs/stipulations pulling older workers out of the workforce and the younger ones moving up leaving gaps. Wonder how many of the younger women have decided their kids is more important that a $10/hr job(Safety and/or education) Wonder how many workers are getting the boot because they quarantine rules due to family or kids. Wonder how many people worked in food service and because they got the boot decided they wanted out of that industry and that was the push to get them out. Wonder how many people became sick of companies that constantly crap on them and looked and found work elsewhere. Wonder how many people in the work force have been removed due to death. Everywhere I turn I see companies talking about "record" years. Wonder how much the shortage is due to increased demand for employees. Will those people be kept once the demand surge is over? Have had 2 people tell me the problem is the longshoreman and truck drivers are all sitting at home on welfare and that's causing the port congestion/delays. Does the welfare system now cover a 50-100k/year job?
  6. I think they eat them with skin on or char the skin enough the meat peels from the backside of the skin. I don't know or understand the process but I do know I wouldn't want to skin several hundred squirrels which is what your looking at. The derbies are the same way.
  7. You are correct. In fact, had this happen in Minnesota.....got caught on stupid mistake of having too many lines in the water ice fishing(had un-attended lines in ice shack down) and fishing outside shack. Game warden was a super nice dude and highly advised our group of 3 that one of us should take the blame and the other 2 pay him the fine. Stepped away and let us sort out the details.
  8. Several squirrel tournaments have members of the Hmong community standing at the weigh in taking them. As I understand it, if you have hundreds to clean you just burn the fur off vs. actually skinning them.
  9. WT was 80 last Sunday AM.....glad its coming down. We saw very few little top water activity anywhere Sunday but wont be long.
  10. Seems there is not much information out there....specifically about bullhead.
  11. Anyone ever fished either one of these lakes and specifically caught/targeted Bullhead?
  12. I fish Beaver TW Saturday and there was a pretty significant number of Kayakers there. Not huge water(4k cfs) but a ton more obstacles in BV TW that pose problems for kayaks than Taney.
  13. Is there a certain level of flow most boat rentals will not rent at for motorized boats?
  14. I really think the entire press release is confusing.....it talks about minimum flow which only pertains to BS dumping into the white right? I've never really seen 950cfs from Beaver dam, 1900 cfs isn't even 1 generator at Beaver. It discusses the doubling of flow from 950cfs to 1900cfs which is something but really isn't considering BS has been releasing 5 to 10X that much over the last couple months and is still high. Then they throw in the catch that TRL has to be below 917 which means its still "more important" and the 3 lake system has to be below 50% full for the doubling of the releases. Again talking purely from the standpoint of mitigating releases at Beaver I don't see it, at least from the press release. The only catch I can see is that previously I think BS and TRL had to be less than 2ft above normal before Beaver could dump. Now I guess they can do it if TRL is normal and BS is flooded but the 3 lake system isn't 50%.
  15. Best I can tell there really isn't much change.
  16. Nice. The state shuffling is the slightly concerning part to me. It becomes much clearer I feel like the more you check off but right now there is too many options to narrow things down. I don't feel like I need to catch a Rio cutt in a specific stream in NM but feel like I should just in case I need it later on.
  17. Wanting to complete the Western Native Trout Challenge sometime in next 10 years...hoping to pack up the state specific slams along the way. Hopefully flying into NM and knocking out rainbow, brown, rio cutt, and brook quickly....then drive across state to Gila territory...then off to apache and finish with as many of the Arizona challenge as I can.
  18. Good take......another thing to remember is the world Garmin was and still is the key player. Software is/was at the heart of what they did and do. GPS, Smart watch, ect. They did very little mechanical duty "things" and troubleshooting/fixes could happen very simply by often a software flash on legacy products they are familiar with. Sounds like if they are replacing boards then most issues are hardware related. When you put electronics/hardware on the front of a boat exposed in a wet environment the ball game changes from a smart watch or automotive/handheld GPS. Is it right? Probably not but I could see why their having growing pains and sounds like their doing there best to make it right on the back end with service.
  19. I'm planning western natives next year. Hoping to check off NM slam and trying to get both AZ challenges. Grayling is included for Arizona as an option....we will see.
  20. last 3 people posting created an account asked if it was still for sale and never came back.
  21. Exciting....Me and a buddy have a trip scheduled with DD at the end of September in the dark....now you've got me wanting a chuck trip too.
  22. I think once you find them(which people here can make recommendations) you specifically know enough of what to ask to know if their style will fit what you want to a high degree. The concern I would have would be booking direct through a resort or marina. You never know how much knowledge the person answering the phone has. You don't know if your plans get conveyed or you matched up to a good fit of guide. I had it happen once on the White booking resort/marina. Made it very clear we were CnR and after quality not quantity. I explicitly said we were looking for large fish and were okay with only catching 1 or 2 fish all day. Yet when we met the guide he was prepared for fishing for stockers. Luckily he was able to pivot gear to stuff he had in his truck but the message clearly didn't get conveyed.
  23. Going by this he posted: and the link to KY3 shows the business is the The Barn House, owned by Travis Zarechi. His facebook shows his profile picture was changed May 20 with many condolences on it. Timing doesn't line up thought with oneshots dissapearance.
  24. @Fish 24/7 is this the soda ad your getting?
  25. See here: and here: That Middle section is really a gem.......but fish can be caught in the upper and lower sections.
