I'm going to go run my boat wide open for all you guys next Tuesday...why?? because it's been sitting in my garage too long with out beeing used.

WOW!!!!! all the anti jet feelings on here are funny!!! I'm with Mitch let's hit the river!!!! Hey, I have just about every kind of vessle you can get, we have canoes, kayaks, paddle board, aluminum bass boat and I can't wait to get my jet this spring. Jets have their place thats for sure and I want to be there. I also like to canoe and portgae, wade fish, hell I do alot of wade fishing. I can't wait to run the jet though...when you see the camo Excel go by on the Meramec or the Big next year that's me I know that I like all methods of transportation on the river. The question should be which way can you catch more quality smallies??? I don't judge jets I just want one!!!!

Please spare me the argument that you catch more fish out of your kayak than I do out of any of my boats.I have a baby right now and my fishing time has been sliced and diced recently.I have two canoes, three kayaks and a paddle board that I fish off of. Hopefully that will make you feel better about my carbon footprint.Oh...but I do have 5 hp yamaha 4 stroke outboard for the one canoe oops there goes my footprint getting bigger again.

So are we supposed to sell our jet boats???? never run my two stroke Evinrude outboard jet any more?? Sell my new SeaArk with the nice new four stroke Suzuki???....Guilt myself into not using gas anymore??? What about all of the develpoing countries of the world who will soon be burning more fossil fuels the the US, like China and India, who treat the enviroment like it's whiping boy??? I have been recycling like a fiend since 1997, we only throw away one bag of solid waste away a month and thats only because it starts smelling to bad. I involve myself in several different trash pickups in Saint Louis County and in Kirkwood, we have "Trash Bashes". I also am a member of three stream teams, dedicated to cleaning specific creeks and streams, everyone here are familiar with those. I have three vehicles that comsume gas and all three can tow a boat. I am not going to guilt myself for having a trucks, I have boats that need to be trailered and I have land that needs to be worked and maintained. Maybe someday there will be electrical machinery that will fit my needs??? I was never questioning whether it's possible that the industrial revolution created by man is causing global warming. Hey it's possible.I just think that when Justin mentioned Al Gore it's super cereal stuff. The link he provided I though also had a bit of an angle or at the very least an agenda prior to publishing.I like a little more neutral slant. I won't guilt myself for beeing a boater and a commuter.

I totally agree with ya there Mitch, he's fishing a private set of lakes in Western Tenn in most of his shows.The gentleman that owns them lives on my dad's street @ Kentucky Lake.The fishing is more than good in those smaller privately managed lakes, but in some ways is kind of boring after awhile, it get's too easy.

Mitch, I have a Motorguide Tour 82 pound thrust in my garage I took off of my old Ranger, I think we used it 4 times....it's a 2006.Will that fit the bill??? let me know otherwise a dude down @ Tablerock wants it i just have to get down there to get it to him....let me know. I just wanted to say I'm very thankful for this forum. I enjoy it very much and everyone I have had conversations with.You all seem to be a bunch of pretty good guys and I know I have rubbed a few people the wrong way and I'm sorry for that.I'm just full of crap sometimes and very opinoniated so it is what it is. OAF really helps me get thru the day in this stupid office, until I can get to the river or a creek somewhere.Basicly I just wanted to say all you guys have a great Thanksgiving and be safe if you are traveling. Oh, and Friday I will be making my annual day after Thankgiving trip to Montauk, me and a few buddies have been doing it now for last 8 years. We will also be hitting Baptist and mabey Parker Hollow @ Schafer spring access. If you are there say what's up to me, I would love to chat. I will be the gaper wearing a Mossy/oak break up skull cap with blue lense Costa Del Mars. I will also have a tub of my wife's chocholate chip cookies, they are like crack if you like chocolate. Be thankful we can get to the river and go hit some fish....time to get ready to smoke this bird!!!

I agree with JJ, all my small spinning reels are filled with Maxima Ultimate green.They have three pound which I use for those goofy trout and I use 6 and 8 for Smallies...on my spinning reels that is, I love that mono, it's good stuff.

I love Primus!!! I've been sailing the sea of cheese for awhile.My wife hates Primus only because I turn them up to 11 on our system!!!

I tend to agree with Al, I think you should focus on the rivers for a Spotted Bass round up, with a fish fry at the end.Lets fry as many of those spots as we can.

Can I fish out of Old town with the 5 hp Yamaha on the back or do I have to fish from a yak???
