  1. Sweet!!!!!.... bummer on the Trolling motor blade....nice report. Mitch is one of the most generous dudes you will ever fish with a yes you're correct he is a crank master....he has shown me some things that I was never able to learn over my 47 years. Wow could Seth be joining the Stl5???....even though it's not the Stl5. ...more like 5 river fishing dorks willing to do anything for a 20
  2. yeah we did some sight fishing for some beautiful Black River Carp......we used a #6 Owner circle hook wrapped in BRL pancakes, the grease laden cakes form an oil slick and float great.....the Carp can't help themselves and they are all pretty good size and honestly some of the best fighters I have encountered other than Hybrids
  3. Yes Jim is Matt dad or Matt has a nephew named James as well. Jim is a relentless old fart and a good friend.....he has some serious drive when it comes to fishing....he's like the energizer bunny he just doesn't stop....I really enjoy his whole family....great people
  4. I agree with you that cop was a dumbass and should pay the price but, he won't. I have friends and family that are LEO'S but, I'm a clown and always have been. We definitely have some people being cops that shouldn't be but, that being said this whole resistant Bull from the AA and Libertarian community is stupid as well IMO
  5. I agree with M&M I was a lurker for almost two years and then I became Smalliebigs and I positive I have pissed some people off but, I do that everyday of the week so it's no different than non online life. the more people the better as far as I'm concerned. I may seem like a dick but, if you are a friend I am as loyal as they come. Please catch and release all river and creek Smallies and we are all good
  6. Agreed, I have LEO's in my family and several friends who are as well. BlueLivesMatter BlackLivesMatter is a terrorist group IMO
  7. Wow I didn't even know!!!....I am glad to hear you are Cancer free. I know it's tough and gonna be a day to day thing as My wife is a Cancer survivor and almost died from an infection right after hysterectomy surgery. She had to have a second emergency surgery to remover 6.7 liters of White Blood cell material from her abdomen as she was dying from the abscess. Then she had 9 months of Chemo. I know it's a tough deal and as Billet head says it's all about your state of mind...."get busy living or get busy dying" Post cancer my wife has run the Chicago Marathon twice and made a massive career change and became a Nurse Practicioner.
  8. Hahahaha
  9. holy crap!!!!! 5,6,7, and 8 are entertaining :)......unbelievable
  10. Sorry Brian but with all due respect in your #3 from the meeting in Farmington. ...you were fed a line of total BS or that agent was only stopping people on HWY 67 that were only traveling to Arkansas and not fishing. You have to get in line at Bluff View in the Winter and when I have gone there the fisherman were keeping the bass. This is just more example of the MDC trying to play upon you're ignorance. Honestly if the agent in that area said that, he should not have his or hers job....they are either inadequate at their job or completely lying and just having a picnic in the woods everyday until the state calls.
  11. I knew I had seen you before on the Gasconade....I have an Old Town SS canoe from the 80's that is a 17 foot and the more weight we put in it the better it tracks and it gets as stable as a bass boat to stand in.....I was in that rig with a trolling motor and you and another guy were pretty funny.....you guys were admiring my canoe....one of you said you HAD to have it hahahahahaha. ...it was funny
  12. That is AWESOME hahahaha....very cool....I think I saw you once on the O fork of the Gnade once??? Anyway killer rig , I like
  13. I fished a Ned last week in very thick current. The biggest key I found was fishing the little guy in the appropriate cfs. In slack water areas I had not even a bite or in areas where it was flowing very fast I caught a few but, in just the right flow with a small depression by a ripple it was on like Donkey Kong. It actually got to the point where I altered the worm itself and quit cutting them in half in an attempt to cut down on all the dinks I was catching from 8 to 12 inches. In one area of water which was basically one medium length hole but the right flow....I caught 68 fish in about a 80 yard stretch and I was pulling the bait from the dinks at that point....if you like action it's a great bait. Here are a few Ned fish from last week but, the true hawgs came on a Mitch Craw and topwater I fished the Ned where I basically maintain line contact and just let current flow that little guy downstream. Look and feel for weight on you line and then give a quick little trout hookset and yer in the money baby. Some of my friends are unfortunately bait fisherman where I was last week and they liked the Ned better than minnows and that's saying something
  14. The river pimps will put as many johns on the river as they can.....it can cause problems for sure.....I agree with you and just used an outfitter for the first time in almost 20 years this Spring.....the stupidity I witnessed was enough for me, it will be another 20 years before or if ever I used an outfitter again
  15. agreed.....did you see the guys hands twisting the steering wheel around in the one clip??? The worst enemy of this dude was himself.....he was an obvious gaper
  16. Dave two things I failed to mention 1) Your jig heads rock brother.....I did land three Smallies in the 18 inch class with your heads last week and a friend I made a Ned for with your head caught an 18+ Smallie as well, which seems to be better than most I see coming out of the "Rock" and all were pulled out of thick current.......I was more than impressed with your jig heads trust me on that. I was just trying to make the point that hooks do straighten and o rings get trashed......river fish will bust up tackle.....you should see what 5 to 10lb Hybrids do to your stuff in current. and 2) I am about to email Dave to buy a shiot load more of his heads....fish tearing up my tackle is best show money can buy for me......poo poo on me for keeping my drag a little tight but, I only want to see the fish and not play them to the point of exhaustion I love Dave's heads and honestly after the way they performed this last week in regards to how little they snag up in current.....his will be the only I ever buy so Dave be prepared for a massive baitwhore order shortly my friend.
  17. Hahahaha Mitch fing bastard.....encouraging the poor to swap out terminal tackle.....you evil SOB hahahahahahaha I had three fish straightened hooks this last week, all three were Smallies and all three were about 17 to 18 inch fish...Two of them straightened Dave's Ned head so easy it was a joke and one was and Aaron Martens Gamakatsu #2....I will say this though I would put a Black River Smallmouth in the 18 inch range up against a lot of fish....they make a lake fish feel like they are quite weak IMO.
  18. Sweet! !!!!.....congrats and future fish stocks will be helped hopefully
  19. Hahahaha nope....they were just four country boy bait fisherman who were following the creel limits set by the MDC, it's how we keep all the Smallmouth from becoming stunted right Britt???? Just following the rules....not sure about the contest though
  20. I mean am I the dumb one for letting beautiful fish like this in Reynolds County go to swim back to Clearwater and try to get lucky to avoid all the meat hunters? ?? How could anyone kill something so killer? ??
  21. A friend in Reynolds County sent me this of some boys who are bait fisherman and operating under the guise of wonderful laws set up by the MDC. ...nothing like letting fisherman just rape the states fish stocks of decades of slow growing Smallmouth reproduction ....these were parked in the river which is a fine per tire but well within their creel limits on size and numbers
  22. Well I'm back now from a drunken family vacation on the Black River. 3 things that I learned and helped me produce some stupid crazy results. 1) and I can't stress this enough especially on rivers, the fish will only be feeding at certain times a day and usually two time periods a day. If you can figure out when the dinner bell rings yer golden. In this case it was early morning from dark to about 8:30am and then again from about 6:30 pm to dark...in between you might as well get drunk with everyone else. 2) In gin clear water, long and accurate casts were very important. Make a shiot cast and you might as well be pissin in the wind. 3) As much as this pains me the Ned rig can be an effective tool in the right water.....too fast forget about it and slack water....give me a brake. In the right flow it was beyond any I have ever seen. Now I altered my worm and only cut a very small amount off of a Zinker as that seemed to cut down on all the dinks. I also was painting mine with a Black sharpie to look like a Hellgramite ...this really worked.....I'm honestly sick of fishing and need to rest my fingers from too much walking the dawg and hooks in my hands....just nuts
  23. A few more from today. I fished from 10 to 2 until the rain started and caught few nice fish on topwater and some Goggles that were quite large....so many fish my hands hurt and I need a rest
  24. Some more Bronze eye candy....actually used a Ned rig today and wow!!! 16 on a Mitchcraw. ...and and a very solid 18 on a Ned ....so drunk...horrible bass thumb....I love it ...soo awesome can't put it in to words. ...too stupid
