  2. Dude, I'm sitting in my office watching Virgil Ward clips on youtube....lets go
  3. dude, that was one hell of a report!!!!! thank you!!!! pics of the rigs and everything.....awsome smallies too. sounds like a perfect plan of out early and then relax until eve.....very sweet
  4. Big Piney River, 17 years ago, very Black Smallie that fought like a champ.I was younger and more skinny and very stupid. Black River, 3 weeks ago, typical very Gold Smallie for that drainage. 17 years older and fatter and still very stupid. Typical Bronze from southeastern creek Same creek and same day, Bronze and a Goldie double up.......lots of variation...........Smallies are truly a beautiful Chameleon.
  5. Wow, I met these guys at the St.louis boat show about tens years back and was contacting them about the 1875 extreme shallow model. I'll have to drive to Canada to get one, very durable well engineered boat. Some of the best aluminum hulls ever made........lol their hull is the first clip. http://www.harbercraft.com/jet-boats/ sorry The second clip is a manfacturer that makes a hull labled the atv of river jets
  6. Yeah, kinda like moveon.org Drew?????........ everyone has an agenda.....everyone
  7. Funny you should mention that Andy, I caught a landowner on Stouts Creek who had done just what you are saying.....I guess to discourage floating and wading??? It wasn't a fence for livestock I'm not that stupid.....just one single very stout wire right at the waters level across the creek in a very bad posistion for paddlers thats for sure.
  8. just kidding, these guys are idiots!!!!!!
  9. Triz, my buddy floated yesterday from above Lesterville bridge by a mile and took out at Riversedge campground. He floated in a solo canoe and drug just about every riffle but he is a big dude....6'3'' 235. he did really well even caught a 19.5 that weighed 3.6 on his digital scale, although he caught it on a live crawdad. He did catch quite a few on some soft plastics creature baits, texas rigged in any moving water. I think you can still do really well if you don't mind getting out of your vessle and walking yourself thru some of the riffles????.....it's up too you
  10. Nice smallie and sweet looking water.....that thing has a very broad tail....very cool
  11. Don't make it too easy for them Gavin......lol I hope your summer has been going well and the kiddos are having some pool time away from Satan farting here the last week or so.
  12. To all of the river outfitters in Missouri.... I think Big Daddy Kane said it best " pimping aint easy". All the outfitters in Missouri are pimps, the rivers are the girls and the recreating public are the Johns. I just wish someone would step in and save all the poor girls from all the prostitution. If you think you are going to see anything other than a bunch of tits and butt you didn't want to see or drunks on the weekends in Missouri on the rivers then you are naive. The rivers are beeing pimped out face it......fish in the fall, winter and during the week if you don't want to see the prostitution.
  13. See my report in Smallmouth talk......very low but, you can do it, I just would never do it on a weekend.
  14. Rod, Al is soo correct one day or even one hour different and the results can be vastly different. Allenton access has some great water around it, but it is upstream and downstream unfortunately and with these low levels even a jet is sketchy right now. Take advantage of the extreme low water levels and get down in the river channel and explore. When the water comes back up you will have some good ideas of where to hit. there are some nice fish in that area as Al said and even some very nice Smallmouth, upstream to Pacific Paliisades I have caught some really nice Spotted Basss. IMO the bass specificly school up there more than they do upstream and when you catch them right you hit the jack pot but, that jack pot dosen't come up very often. An 18 inch Channel on top water is cool in my book....you'll get into them there if you keep at it. I have a good friend who says if you can catch fish on the lower Meramec you can catch fish anywhwere and I think he's right. Like Al said the evening bite is king on the lower Mec......throw some big, agressive topwater baits in the right spot and you might get a big suprise.
  15. Joe, lol....seriously they were not gigging frogs at 3:27 pm in the middle of the deepest pool we had seen in a mile or so looking straight down holding a gig about to spear something in 3 to 4 feet of water. They saw us put their tine down and fired up their jet and headed to HWY K fast. Oh, and the date was Tuesday 06/26/2012.......gigging frogs???.... that's some funny dung there. Don't worry I'm on to these clowns, they can gig all they want down by HWY K and below but, up where my place is and my friends are we will be diligently watching and chasing them now. My buddy Gill is retired and has nothing better to do he will be driving all the roads east and west of the river looking for them, they might want to stop their illegal activites soon.
  16. lol!!!!!! i have another in the wrapper right next to my desk here in the office if you want it?????
  17. I think she is hot.....she can paddle my yak.....theres something hot about a chick that can kick your butt
  18. Al, my buddy bought 600 plus acres above HWY 32 on that creek and is very hostile, becareful he will make your wading adventure suck for sure. As long as you know him it's all good though.
  19. Where you been??? i always enjoyed your insight
  20. What a beast Hank!!!! awsome!!!! it's good to know there are a few that make it past the giggers every year.
  21. We embarked on our annual trip last Sunday and the water levels in Southern Missouri are beyound low. I have never seen the river a such low levels but, we were there and the river had to be fished. The only water gauge on this river has been at it's all time low now for about a month if that gives you any idea of how low the water is. Where the river flowed several feet deep before are now just pools conected by inch deep riffles....it's kinda wierd. The fish IMO were trapped or stationary in the pool they are in and very hungry. The bad thing is the water and habitat right now makes for some fish to be not in that good of shape....some are and some aren't.Some will be completely imaciated and some will be just thick as a brick. The fishing was actually quite awsome for numbers, I'm not going to throw a number out there as to how many we caught but, let me tell you it was a rediculous amount of Smallies. We never really landed a kicker fish over 20, which is what I was there for but, several in the 15 to 18 inch range. I did loose a Smallie on a KVD Sexy Dawg jr on tuesday morning that was the simply the biggest river smallie I have seen up close and on my line. She snapped 8 lb test line after the fourth intense bulldog run at the bank in very swift water and just cruized away with my plug stuck on her face. I was bummed on more than one level but, I got such a good look at her and the strike was something to behold. This fish actually came all the way out of the water and knocked the plug up in the air and missed and then promptly came right back and just crushed it.....very cool. We were nailing fish on soft plastics in any water that was moving with good habitat from dawn to dusk ....it was almost too easy at certain times....just way too many fish that were not big enough. We were on the topwater bite very early before the sun is on the water then it would shut down and pick back up in the evening. Reynolds County is deffinitely one of my favorite places in Missouri and holds a special place in my heart. There were a few bad things.....1) When we paddled down river and came to what is known as Seclusion Trails access we caught two friggin loosers actually gigging. They saw us and fired the motor up and took off like a bat out of hell. I saw their truck at the access and wrote the license plate down on the trailer and truck and reported it to the Reynolds County Conservation agent and he said there wasn't a whole lot he could do????? what a joke!!!! I'm sick of loosers poaching and screwing our resources up.....I will report anything and everything but, it doesn't sound like they do much other than possibly patrol that area a little more....possibly. 2) We found a Smallmouth that measured 22 inches even with it's tail decaying away(would have been a little bigger) as three turtles fed on it.It had been dead for awhile but was enormous.......old age??? high water temps??? gut hook release??? i have pics but, don't think I will make them public here though. Good things!!!!! 1) I spent a week fishing with some the best people I know and that was pure gold for my soul. 2) Started using a KVD(Strike King) Sexy Dawg jr and they are awsome!!!! IMO they might one of the best "Walk the dog" baits in moving water....on the downstream side of the plug I was getting it to swim more than a foot....very nice lure. Here's some porn...not that great but a few randoms from the trip 16.5 on the Sexy Dawg Justin with a chunk 18 Paul's wife Jackie with some smallie action can you say skinny???
  22. No kidding!!!!! great info and reports, it makes it to where even a guy like me feels like I'm armed with at least an idea of what to do. Killer info if you're paying attention IMO
  23. E, you were right I am a puss when it comes to anything with tools...lol that only took a wrench, screwdriver and a drill. I hope all is well with you???? our grass is beyound dormant here in Kirkwood
  24. lol!!!!!!! you sound worse than me but, your question is a good one though. The Meramec has become laced with rough fish IMO some areas worse than others. It was hard to see the area around Brazil creek go down hill and the Meramec in that area as well but, that happens. I have become nothing but a big olde bitch when it comes to seeing the Meramec in the summertime.....it's bad
  25. I am still trying to figure out aan arangement for the Coosa and the OG119 on my trailer.....soo frigging excited, I have a few more shipments of goods at the office and it's time.........for the Smallies in Reynolds county to be on the run. It looks like it's going to be nothing but a Dick Trickle by the time we get down there....oh well
