  1. Sweet!!!! they are running pretty good over here too. I am going tomorrow or Wends...nice Largemouth too !!!!!
  2. Sounds fun....I love the marginal streams of Missouri.....like you said it's like the old grab bag game, you never know what's comming in on the end of the line. It's my favorite kind of fishing for sure and now that I have been blown out of the water by Mizzou and Duke....I will be fishing more thru the madness.
  3. Al, I waded two creeks around Bonne Terre, both were fairly cold still but, it wasn't too bad and did very good. I didn't get the 18+ but, the numbers were great. It was kinda freaky beeing that warm this early and wading a creek. All fish were caught on this 1/4 ounce spinner bait.....I call my creek spinner....in Sexxy Purple Shad
  4. "That said, the only way to truely protect the bass is to join up with these folks and all fish will be safe: http://www.peta.org/...se-fishing.aspx " Griz......I thought I said stuff on here that was stupid but, that my friend takes the cake, congrats!!!! Some of you guys are mind bogling. For someone to say that because I want illegal gigging stoped I should join up with P.E.T.A?????? Holy crapd dude you are ate up......this forum has some real winners.
  5. I was kidding it's okay my sister has property along it and at certain times of the year it seems some decent smaliies migrate up into it for some unknown reason but there just isn't enough water to really worry about. The creek itself is actualy beautiful and I once read a report form the MDC about Calvey and Fox creek both having way more smallies back in the day but like most small creeks in Jefferson County they have both gone downhill from what they used to be.The times I have fished I have encountered a few less than savory fellows that I wouldn't trust my vehicle around so beware.
  6. " Just wish I was out on a creek somewhere today instead of staring into this dull ole computer screen." Andy, I hear ya brother!!!!! i'm going tommorow and Wends.....lets go!!!!! screw that computer screen!!!!! I've been tying jigs all morning and last night....plenty of Plum Ford Prospectors to go around. I have a spot on the upper **** River I want to hit....doesn't need to be an all day deal.......I'll let you fish out of my Coosa all day if ya want
  7. Daryk, I think that gal might be wrong???? not sure but, last year I was checked by waterpatrol and he scolded me for not having my card....which after he left my vessel I found it in my tackle box ofcourse. That dude was giving me hell for not having in the boat while it was beeing opreated is what he was saying????
  8. Nice job Greasy!!! now he gets $75....were you out on the Courtois???
  9. I am doing 15 miles on the Meramec on Wednesday and purely hunting for trophies if anyone can handle that long of a float you are more than welcome, it will be thru the most fertile section of the river. Oh, give me the 20's and a long float.....I am out there as long as possible.....Mitch you know me run and gun until the big ones start comming to hand
  10. Justin, that has got be the coolest looking rental craft avaiable in Missouri I've seen in awhile.....very nice and the yacht club idea is brillant, I think it will pay off big time.....kudos
  11. "Not true Smalliebigs, as usual, and all I said about your sneaky commercial was that I wouldn't call it "Very impressive". Did you think members wouldn't be smart enough to notice that your post was from a commercial interest? Try being a little more forthright like the others who have legitimate services of interest." WTF are you talking about???? wow.....this forum is awsome
  12. Dang Al, way to school Mitch and what a sweet river Smallmouth....that thing needs to go to weight watchers!!!! chunky I knew one you was gonna catch a good one today once the water temps inched closer to that majic number. great job Al
  13. I would have bet $100 on the opinion "sour grapes" being expressed. The Anti's never were happy unless they managed to denigrate their oppostion with personal attacks and I see that habit prevails. Remind you of anything taking place in politics today by a certain group begiining with the letter "L" ? Ha ! Skeeter, you are very correct with that statement there.
  14. Mark, I couldn't agree more, it's always nice to hear both sides of the issue and we will get blasted on here for feeling that way. " A good point for all - just because you read it somewhere doesn't always make it true." ..............................oh, soo true
  15. Oh yea... I'm hating. LOL...... my point was as soon as anyone claims a product is good on this forum......you will have blow hard, wanabes who sit vicariously behind there keyboards tearing it down. Hey, this forum is what it is. Don't worry Wayne I will be out on the St.Francis real soon as well as many other streams on my Coosa.
  16. I figured as much from you Wayne.....there may only be class II and borderline class III in this clip but, they had just gone thru Cat Paw and another drop above it of over 4 feet. There is class III all thru out this strech even at this low water level. What imppresses me is that someone could be such a bitch at your age, it really must suck. I wasn't debating the abilities of a SOT vs SIK and which one will take on more water.
  17. My buddy took his SOT kayak out on the St.Francis yesterday from Roselle down......pretty impressive for a SOT, heres one of the clips. It was at 1 inch at Roselle not eaxctly raging but still very impressive for a fishing yak. http://youtu.be/5kQtEX-MkUk and let the hating begin
  18. Brian, hey what's up??? Al Agnew is somewhat of an authority on that project and made it a mission to get it stopped. I know he said he devoted a lot of time and energy to stop that darn as he had seen several other rivers destroyed prior to the Meramec project. He can give you a book to read about the Meramec basin project. I don't think it was the LOZ lobby as the fellow suggest on tinboats.com....which is a very cool forum I must say.
  19. What is the ONSR?????
  20. This story just shows how screwed up it is out there.I commend this guy but ther were way too many plea bargins and not strong enough penalties. At least there are some prosecuters who will do something even if it's not even close to what we need.
  21. Daryk, seriously we can meet at George Winter and hit the Meramec, I know about three good areas that hold decent fish or if you want to really go for it we can go to Columbia Bottoms ramp on the Missouri and then we have all kinds of oppurtunities.....we just need to net up some Skipjack herring and we are good to go. I truly love to chase the big cats and most of my "bass" fishing buddies don't seem to have developed a taste for the cats????? it's there loss. I have a 19 1/2 foot SeaArk with a 110 hp Suzuki on the back sitting in the garge that was made for chasing cats on big rivers....let me know, I'm serious I love fishing with new people I always learn something. I live in the Kirkwood area and one of my best friends lives off of HWY P just west of HWY A on the Joachim Creek and my uncle lives in Festus as well....right by the catholic high school....St.Pius I think???? anyway small world.....let me know ahead of time if you ever want to reel in something over 25 lbs. Scott
  22. Daryk, If your ever in the mood to catch some cats let me know......I have the perfect boat for doing such a thing on rivers. I like showing people how to get some cats. scottd@iiistl.com Scott
  23. We caught 5 Blues in two hours on the Meramec below HWY 30 bridge about a mile or so and were in the deepest part of the channel there. We found a trench that went from 8 feet to 16 and had a little debri in it. We anchored up stream about 30 yards and thru some cut skippys at them and they came running. The biggest was only 14lbs but, that tells me they are moving up from the Mississippi already.....pre/spwan......eventhough the MDC says they don't do that in the Meramec......lol
  24. LOL......Ron, I don't think I would be to worried about an MFU member questioning your abilities and I really do like your response...........The Unit knows all and is wise........ha
