  1. I don't think it's the presence of cajones, but rather the lack of functioning brain cells.
  2. Weather man said it got down to 7 below in Springfield last night. Thermometer in my Jeep said 3 below on my way to work this a.m. Glad you guys had a heat wave roll through down there so you could make it out on the water!
  3. Great story! The name sure fits!
  4. Report back and let us know how you do. I have Hobbs Creek stuff on my TFO rod and I am impressed with the reel and line for the money. Hobbs Creek is White River Fly Shop at Bass Pro, but my 4wt Hobbs Creek line throws a heavy 2 nymph indicator rig with split shot no problem.
  5. Not a bad fish at all, sir. Thanks for posting.
  6. How does the liability issue play out in a situation like that I wonder?
  7. B-I-N-G-O and bingo was his name-o. This is definitely disappointing to hear to say the least. I will soon be in the market for a new reel for my 7/8wt (and possibly my 4wt as well) with spare spools and additional lines and I was looking forward to buying them from you know who if you know who ran another good special.
  8. Wow, 4 of 6 hooks. Not bad. I give it a 8.5. Could have approached high 9's had there been substantially more blood shed.
  9. I hope it isn't who I think it is. They have some great looking products at killer prices. Maybe it's a case of you get what you pay for, but instead of shotty products you get crappy service.
  10. Your right, it does look super fishy!!
  11. un-dect-a-bly –verb (used with object) 1. Shorthand used on Ozark Anglers to be accepted for usage as undetectable. See undetectable.
  12. Rightly so Al. I will have read hundreds of reviews by the time I have the extra funds but I am still leaning towards the Pentax for my needs.
  13. Because it's the trendy hip thing to do! Before I get flamed, obviously there are people who do it for animal right concerns and health reasons, but I would estimate that 75% of the vegans that I know (which isn't that many) do it because (they think) it's the in thing.
  14. pffft a poor weather drinker I see. Those of us that don't just jump on the bandwagon were already stocked up!
  15. Wow, very nice fish your buddy caught OB!
  16. TC If more folks would have the wise common sense that you and your family have there would be more 12 buck an hour jobs to be had. Sorry if I overreacted to your comments.one of the ladies that worked for me last year has not been able to find a job form more than 8 bucks and hour and her husb and who has a degree has been laid off from 3 jobs since last september. They are both hard worker and trying hard. That being said Congrats on your success and fine family. I worked for 39 years and retired in 1999 and we had the same philosophy. I was fortunate enough to never have to ask for help from anyone. Keep us the good work pal we need more responsiblle families like yours. BTW with already 7 + inches of snow in Columbia over 3/4 inches of ice under it in some places .... it will be longer than a few days before this snow in gone in Missouri. The tempertatures for the next two days alone are predicting -4 degrees ane 0 degrees. I doubt if much snow will melt with those temps. Columbia is filled with hills and narrow streets and several college campuses that are all closed. Thank you for the kind words. Sometimes its difficult and it would be nice to have a huge tv and a nice cable package and newer lower mileage vehicles etc etc, but if we can keep our belts tightened for about 5 more years my wife will be done with dental school and we will be able to relax a little. I myself have been fortunate finding jobs the couple of time I have been without and my wife does not work by choice, so she can complete school quicker. I have to say we wouldn't be in near the economic situation we are currently either if more folks would live inside their means and not as many good workers such as your friends would be looking for jobs. But again thats neither here nor there.
  17. A single well-placed - Oh you said TREE. Never mind and disregard this post.
  18. I never said that they were? I asked if Eric thought it would be a good idea until they came out with a new one. But you gotta think they will come up with one sometime between now and forever, right?? Lots of other companies make cameras that are much smaller, so its feasible that in their next release GoPro will catch up with the times. and it's lack of resolution as previously covered, its bulkiness and having to pay an extra 80 bucks for an lcd. or one of these: http://photojojo.com...t-camera-mount/ or this: http://www.google.co...ed=0CEoQ8wIwAg# or your kayak could wear any of these: http://www.google.co...ved=0CC8QrQQwAw or: http://www.radioshac...ductId=10822409 or any of these listed right along with GoPro stuff even: http://www.nextag.co...nt/compare-html and that is only what the first 3 seconds of google searching turned up. Who knows what you could find if you spent a whole minute on it.
  19. She is on strict orders not to! However it should do fine in the flat country of Springfield. I test it out in the parking lot when I get home (read: there will be sliding and snow flying) Here is the latest in Nixa:
  20. p.s. Nice blog, you get out a lot! Following!
  21. Looks like the ice is done already here. The precip. has changed to snwo and is falling fast. My tracks covered up quick.
  22. Thanks for sharing the report and pictures! I can't wait to get back to Sunburst. I would love to float it too. Good thing it was warm enough when I was there that my drool did not freeze on Justin's drift boat!
  23. I hope you snapped some pics! Sounds like a great trip!
