Went back this morning to the spot I saw about 20 mallards siting yesterday. Only saw 7 this morning, but got my 4. Back to work tomorrow.

Doubled by total from yesterday, but still not many ducks seen. Doubled on a group of 5. Only shots of the day. Found a spot with about 20 mallards that I am going to try mañana. Happy New Year.

Went out on the lake this morning with slightly higher hopes. Ended up with one mallard. Only saw a doxen ducks overall. Going somewhere different in the morning.

Nice hunt. Maybe this cold front next week will change things up.

Spent the weekend hunting in northeast Arkansas. Not a lot of action. We killed 5 shovelers on Saturday and 7 teal today. Spent all Saturday afternoon driving around looking for ducks. Didn't see many for this time of year in that area. Very few people hunting. Did see some impressive groups of snows. Don't know if the photo does it justice, but this is probably the biggest group I have ever seen in one field.

This sounds like the same discussion we had sitting on the tailgate drinking Miller Lites after the hunt. This is the first Hybrid I have ever seen in person.

I believe it is a mallard/black hybrid.

Ducks were very stale. We were hunting some private marsh/wetlands in SE Kansas. Ducks would land out past the decoys or in some WRP land that wasnt being hunted. Headed to NE Arkansas Friday to try my luck over there. The lakes and rivers around Mountain Home are void. Ducks are sitting on cattle ponds in groups of a dozen or two all over. Big change from last year. But that's what makes it fun.

Was not on BS. Thanks for the compliments on the dog. He doesn't get as much hunting as he should. I'm not sure on the table fare of goldeneyes. These were my first ones and I put them in the freezer to possibly mount.

It has been a slow season for me so far. Only hunt I have been on in the "Ozarks" so far was successful in adding a new species that I had never taken before. Gonna try to get out more often over the next couple weeks. Happy Hunting.

Awesome hunt report. I always prefer Sunny days to cloudy for ducks. That duck rig is slick. I will never own another duck boat without Hyrdoturf on the flat surfaces. Good luck the rest of the season. -
Nice report. Been slow here in Northern Arkansas with the warm temps also. Headed to southeast Kansas Friday to try to hunt some up.

I have Thursday off and might take you up on that. I have a bunch of honeydos around the house though and duck hunting might take priority. I will let you know.

Thanks for the report. Glad you got into them up there in the middle zone. I was aching to make it up there earlier in November, but work and family got in the way. Good luck the rest of the season. I will try to get some reports up soon. -

I thought this was a good name for the manufactured rivalry, but it hasn't grabbed hold yet. "ARMOgeddon". Arkansas and Missouri maybe will grow into a nice season ending game both teams. Basketball is somewhat building a rivalry. Maybe we call that "Battle of the Anderson's".

Thought the woodsmans or two rivers fly shop in Norfork had canoes for rent. Heck, I have a canoe that you are welcome to borrow. It just sits in my shop collecting dust.

Geese were flying when I put the dog in his kennel at 9pm last night and heard them again when I got him out at 5am this morning. Ready to hit the duck blind. Probably wont get to go until Thanksgiving morning.
